Ann Arbor - Sites to see?

zingerman's deli is about as good a deli as you can get outside of NYC / NJ. is good.
main st has some nice shops, little bars.....famous as it it the Main Street in Bob Segar's song....."Down on Main St."

Everybody’s different, but having lived in that area for 11 years, my wife and I found Zingerman’s to be overrated.

Take a tour of Michigan Stadium. It's the 2nd biggest stadium in CFB!
I've not eaten here but I do recall seeing on the Big Ten Network.
And still not very loud. Way overrated.
My recommendation may not interest you, but I'll mention it just in case. The Clements Library has one of the best collections of papers on the American Revolution. During the 1920s, Michigan alum and industrialist William Clements decided to purchase the papers of some of the key British figures from the American Revolution. In many cases the descendants of such individuals were happy to get $$$ to unload the documents. Clements purchased:
- the papers of Thomas Gage (British commander-in-chief and governor of Massachusetts in the lead up to, and months following, the Battles of Lexington and Concord)
- the papers of Henry Clinton (British command-in-chief for most of the American Revolution; he followed Gen. Howe)
- the papers of Lord Shelburne (he was the prime minister that signed the Treaty of Paris, which formally ended the war)
- the papers of George Germain (the Secretary of State for North America for almost the entire war)
The library has continued to collect papers on the American Revolution. It's the rare book on the American Revolution that doesn't include citations from papers found in the Clements Library. They've had a number of exhibits over the years on the American Revolution, but the current exhibit is not on that subject. However, you can register for tours (you'll have to check their web site), and the tours generally include a number of items from the American Revolution.

I lived 20 miles north of Ann Arbor, I thought that the food was very good...... but expensive. But I get the overrated thought.
Play the Michigan golf course right there at the stadium and tailgate on it the following day. If we lose cover all psu logos on you as Michigan fans and police at the cross walk will give you grief.
Casey's Tavern (across from train station) used to have some really good sandwiches, soups, and burgers. Only seats about 50-75 people. Haven't worked in Ann Arbor for over 5 yrs, so maybe those more familiar with current status can give you an update.
Cover up your PSU logo? F that. I suppose it might be easier for me to ignore the catcalls but regardless nut up and stare them down, ffs.
Not in AA, but close by - go see and spend as much time as possible in the Henry Ford Museum - real American artifacts that are interesting to see, touch and feel - not like the recent Smithsonian crap.
Shopping at the mall in AA - no, the 'M Den' store has everything M clothes and more, many small restaurants and bars downtown, on North campus the Law library would be something to see, the South campus has all of the athletic buildings and fields
The roads will probably be terrible, Michigan does not feel the need to repair potholes, if you are going for a game - park on the golf course
If you need Medical help - UMich hospitals are very, very good - two years ago my wife spent 5 days being treated
Nephew works for the University upgrading their phone system - campus and stadium with alot of work yet to accomplish

Agree about the Henry Ford Museum if you have a day to spare in Dearborn area.
I'll echo UofM MC is top notch.
Zingerman's is the big fish in a small pond. It may be a must-go in Ann Arbor, but it would be an average deli in the Northeast.
I had to wait over a half hour to get my food on a weekday with no special events in town. I can't imagine how long the wait would be during a football weekend not to mention the challenge of finding a parking space.
Make sure you see that overrated run down ***** House they call a stadium.
I lived in AA for 1 year. It was the longest 10 years of my life.
To paraphrase what we used to say when leaving ESPN -- "Happiness is seeing Ann Arbor in the rearview mirror."
