Seton Hall will make a pretty penny from this game.

If we played it at Walsh/Rock it would be a pay game and cost the school about $90K. Now we actually will be able to add to our NIL.

Nice to get $$ in the door for this stuff, but I can’t imagine that pretty penny is that significant comparatively unless the organizers are the worst business people alive. Would love for our OOC to add in another high major or two at the ROCK, neutral site or even their place.

Unfortunately we are not the same program we once were. If we had a track of record of retaining talent and/or had a huge budget to get transfers better schools would be willing to commit to home and homes and neutral sites. Willard was good about getting us games in the garden and the Big Ten/Big 12 games gave us great opportunities to play home games against good competition.

I think a lot of teams don’t want to take a chance playing us because they have no idea what type of team we are going to be. Sha’s teams are scrappy enough to beat most teams on a given night but we could easily crash and burn the rest of the season making that a terrible loss for our opponent and some schools don’t want to take the risk.

Been to the Palestra when Gonzo played two games there early in his tenure. We won both games and I remember seeing Hazell kissing him on the court.

Good times back then.

Willard had us playing at MSG and the Barclays. Sha has us playing in Walsh & the Palestra. LOL

Willard had us playing Kentucky & Michigan State. Sha has us playing Charlotte & Sisters of the Poor Community College
