I will say off season coaching changes should help this team be better but we will see

having miller, johns, Montgomery, and wells helping offense is a huge upgrade as long as lebby uses that. Now loadholt being main line guy still i don't know and all new line basically. But the coaches named above should help. KT is talented but first year as the guy. Growing pains will be there

Defense is upgraded with Brock and Arnett being back however I hope transfer guys can make some impacts and bring depth.
And hopefully Lebby learned from mistakes in year 2 with terrible decisions. Hopefully he will listen to the veterans coaches he brought In

If Lebby ever gets to be worth keeping, he’ll leave for somewhere else.

We are Mississippi State.
Yeah no $&@!

That would probably take a playoff berth, or close to it, and we’d be in miles better shape than we are now/were when he started.

It’s a competitive landscape with big money at stake. Any successful coach anywhere, with some exceptions, is entertaining options every year. I just hope he does produce at that level and when people come calling he doesn’t let it derail our late season potential à la Mullen.

Let me help you with that wool:
Lots of outlets rank the position groups (RBs, LBs, Oline, etc) for all 16 SEC teams. I've yet to see any rankings that didn't have State last in both the Oline & Dline. If you can't win at the line of scrimmage, then you'll struggle mightly to win SEC games. Oh, and we get a 9th league game this year.

Here’s a positive thing I will say about Lebby. His teams play hard. The attitude part does seem to be good, which is actually impressive given how little winning we’ve done the past two years. If you combined the attitude from the Lebby teams with the talent from the Morehead years with the coaching competence from the Mullen or Leach years, we’d be pretty awesome.

What's pretty crazy is we will basically know the first 4 weeks if Lebby is fired or not. Go 2-2 or 1-3 and he's 95% fired
I think he could survive a 2-2 start, but would have to sweep Vandy, Auburn & Tenn Tech (which is pretty doable), and pull off an upset somewhere (especially if that upset is in the Egg Bowl). 1-3 and he's a dead man walking.

I will definitely give him that. And sometimes that can go a long way.

You can replace the words "successful coach" with "productive athlete" and the phrase remains true, especially at skill positions
Yea...if we can't "fix" this NIL situation, I hope, at a minimum, that any tampering/contact in season finds a way to be identified and punished severely.

I am excited about Ty Warren with the DL. Heard him speak at the coaches clinic. He is teaching great fundamentals, also using old school information with new school technology. Plus the kids will want to learn from a Super Bowl winning, Pats- All Decade team.
