Would UI Healthcare be a good option?
This never made sense to me. Who is compition with UI Healthcare? Isn’t advertising just driving up the cost of healthcare? Isn’t it owned by the state anyway? Shifting healthcare money to the football team seems odd at the very least, almost pathetic.

sort like giving your spouse money and they claim it as disposable income ?

I think a big Iowa company would need to give to Iowa and Iowa state equally or risk losing customers. Yes, both fan bases are that petty. So they figure save money and keep customers by doing nothing.

best think for Iowa is more conference level sponsors. Maybe have coke and Pepsi have a bidding war. Stuff like that.

the UI tries to fundraise to raise millions. why would they turn around and give it away to Iowa athletics?

$21M for a logo patch seems appropriate, that's $3M per wave at the Children's Hospital each year ...quid-pro-quo... sign the deal.
I realize you are joking but I wouldn’t be surprised if Iowa is able to land a deal, that it would be 1/3- 1/4 of that amount.

I predict it’ll be a lot closer to 2/3 that amount.
I know almost nothing about coporate advertising but what company do you think would pay Iowa 14 million per year? Iowa doesn’t have anywhere near 2/3 the ratings eyeballs of OSU or half or more of the SEC.

The question is not who will be first. Nike is first. The question is who will be 2nd, 3rd and 4th

I do think you have to remember that While a team like Iowa may not have the same level of "eyes" on them per say, they play a pretty solid schedule full of quality teams and any sponcer knows that if Iowa is playing, OSU, Michigan, USC, Washington, Oregon, etc... people watching those games are watching Iowa (and their brand) at the same time. One of the benefits of playing with "the big dogs"on a weekly basis and your brand travels with you. Another reason the big 12 or whatever they are will fall farther behind.

Yep, Casey, Bandag, Deere, IH, somebody. We'll see what Beth can come up with. Culvers, probably not a chance. Their origins are deep in Wisconsin, and I'd bet its a cold day in hell before old Craig will be putting that on our jerseys.
Bandag was acquired by Bridgestone(Japanese) 5DEC2006.

A) I said "closer" to 2/3, not exactly ...but significantly more than $5M-$7M regardless
B) the Hawkeye brand is stronger than you think, there are corporations out there that see that
