Whether I'm voting for POTUS or Dog Catcher, I try my best to look at candidate experience and resume as it pertains to the office / job description. I think Delbert has them all beat in that regard.

Delbert is 79 and would be 87 when his 2nd term expires (assuming he runs for reelection). That's a big nope. Even if he committed to just 1 term. I'll probably vote for Gibson. But I think Shad is the next governor.

I'm woefully behind and always assume that politicians of that tenure will not stop trying to get whatever office they have not attained. Perhaps he doesn't even run. I couldn't even get the right lady identified in my OP...

Phillip Gunn is running. Delbert is not likely to run. Shad will pivot. And, poor Andy, he's too poor to make a go of it this go-round.

Lynn has a good bit of cash. She can make a go of it. And, as hard as it is to believe, she will likely be a formidable candidate.

Will be interesting to see who the current guv pushes to run against M. Watson because there's no 17n way Tater lets Watson go without a strong opponent. Lt Guv is too 17n powerful of a seat. Tater will absolutely try to influence the successor.

I’m thinking Delbert doesn’t run…

I kind of like Tommy Duff…

Phillip was my state rep, and I like him…

Shad, well we have a bunch of mutual friends, but geez… his Auditor social media persona reminds me of a humorless Barney Fife, and I know he’s better than that. He is a Rhodes Scholar after all…

Andy & I might be Kin…

Lynn might win because she could be the least objectionable of the bunch…

I find it amazing that Lynn Fitch was elected attorney general in 2020 and she was the first Republican in that role in MS since 1878.

She will be a formidable opponent for Gipson. You would be unwise to write her off. She's got the Haley Barbour machine behind her and she is the attorney of record that brought down Roe vs. Wade (even though the solicitor general argued the case). The evangelical women in this state love her. I'm not sure she's ready to be governor, but if she wins, she will be like Noem and Haley and put her face everywhere in hopes of getting a cabinet position for a future Republican president, and not do very much as governor (good or bad). The Mahjong crowd will love it!

The better question is who will run on the Democrat side. That truck driver that ran a few years ago that didn't even vote for himself was a great story.

Delbert is way to old, and is a big fat "Hell No" & frankly, he should know better than to run

Shad.....would be interesting, but, me thinks Shad is just another politician w/ a book

Lynn Fitch....absolutely not.

Gipson.....frankly, I look at the fairgrounds and how it has been maintained, and just don't see him being qualified to run the state.

Duff.....beyond successful businessman. Will receive my vote

**I'm tired of politicians and lawyers. I want to elect people that have actually worked in the real world

The times I've spoken with AG I've always been impressed. Don't know him extremely well but I would vote for him over Fitch. He built his own home from the ground up before he graduated college. Resourceful and a fast learner.

Delbert - if he wasn't 79 years old he would probably have my vote

Fitch - absolutely not, aside from a couple notable big ticket items has sat on her hands as AG

Gunn - meh

Shad - I don't know how his gimmick translates to the executive office

Gipson - I don't like his hat gimmick at all but I have been told by people who know him that he's incredibly smart

Duff - Gonna have to see/hear him first

Have people forgotten what got Andy Gipson moved into his current role as Ag Commissioner? He was the one that caused all the stink around open carrying firearms everywhere, including SEC football games.."because is was his god given right too"..made such noise about it that SEC commissioner had to step in and say that no SEC sporting events would ever be played in MS if that were to happen....shortly thereafter, Phil got him out of the legislature and into his current role.....Ag folks around MS like him in his current role.....it is mixed support for governor though....personally, I feel the same way....way too hard core, hell fire and brimstone baptist for my liking...

Delbert would be great but I think he is too old
Philip Gunn seems to only support what Phillip Gunn wants, not what the voters want (see his stance (or stand) on medical Marijuana)
Shad got out over his skis trying too hard to be a mini Trump the last few years belittling everybody...I think someone told him and he has toned it down some.
Lynn Fitch is solid and timing is right....I could get behind her at least once

Delbert is the best candidate but he is too damned old & the RINO accusations will cause him to struggle in the primary where no candidate potentially gets more than 25% if everyone runs.
Shad - NO
Andy - NO
Fitch - NO
Gunn - NO
Thomas Duff - I don't think he will run, but he do luv everybody in the media talking about him.
It might come down to which candidate Duff supports.

Reason it took so long for republicans to take that job too is we had a really good democratic AG for 16 years before he retired.
