Will Lake Taylor continue there championship momentum from last year. Can Petersburg make a long playoff run. And can Hopewell continue its long playoff run and make a return to the championship.

Crazy there hasn’t been a peep about Lake Taylor for the last couple of years in the 757 despite them winning a championship last year.

I'm hoping there's someone different who can make a run. We are seeing a lot of stagnation in high school football in Virginia. Yes, we do have one-offs. And yes, we have teams that make a run for a couple of years and go deep in the playoffs. But will some below .500 or even mid-teams please step up in all classifications to break up the monotony?

Next years alignment changes should change that. VHSL released recommended alignments a week or so ago but now they will hear appeals. By end of month we will have a better picture of who is moving up and down in class.

I find it interesting that these recommended alignments were sent out (I'm guessing internally amongst schools/ADs/VHSL Office) even though we're nowhere close to when the ADM numbers are going to be released. Is the VHSL trying to get a feel for what the classification cutoff numbers are going to be? Just kind of strange to do this now before R&R season in the late Winter/early Spring.

You can find them on the VHSL site. There is an appeals process that should be settled by end of the month. I'll post once the final alignment is released.
