Reading your post made me think about Taiwan crushing everyone at the LLWS back in the 70's & early 80's. Living a stone's throw away from the LLWS complex, I attended quite a few games and knew there was some age cheating
going on. Asian kids with mustaches was a giveaway. I also think it was a National team, where boundaries went out the window. I think that LL is much better today since the Danny Alamonte fiasco!
I should have checked the schedule before getting up for the 2:30 am Eastern usual start. Repechage starts at 8:30 today.

Rylen Wax goes for the Greco/Free gold medal double at 45 kg against Nelson Villafane 6 time PA Jr Champ who will wrestle for Riverside/West Scranton as a freshman next season. They wrestled at Pan Ams with Wax winning 9-8 in a great match. Wax also beat him 7-5 in Greco at Pan Ams.
Salah Tsarni, Air Force recruit is in the Gold match at 92Kg against Shabanov from Russia. Both have looked great shutting out their opponents so far. The Russian has impressive facial hair for "16" year old.
Will Soto Puerto Rico and Penn State commit is in the 51kg bronze match vs TBD

Howard's in the Blue singlet,Uzb starts with a throw by attempt then is trying to bulldoze Howard OB but Howard circle for the whistle back to neutral. Howard low single attempt for nothing as Howard goes on the clock first. Howard steps out down 1-0 and gives up clock down 2-0. Howard reaching for shots and now fighting a left underhook. Struggling against the hands/head defense of UZB down 0-2 at the break

Howard is half reaching for shots and gets whizzered when gets an underhook Howard in on a decent shot but stop. Huge double and lift for 4pter OB. Howard up 4-2 but UZB challenges. Must be hoping Howard stepped out before the feet to back. Screen just jumped to the 92kg match. That the price I pay for streaming and not calibrating the time before something like this. Howard must have won the challenge as he won the match 5-2 and advances.

We will end up with 2 medals this will be the 3rd time since 2011 we got 2 medals. We got 1 medal twice since 2011. This is the worst performance since 2019 when we got 2 medals and were 5th . We have won Gold or Silver as a team the last 5 years

Wax and Villafane both handfighting hard. V underhook into a front headlock. Lots of snaps as Wax goes on the clock first. Villafane shot wax breaks him down on the edge but V gets the step out. 2-0 Villafane with clock point at the break..
