My wife and I are in Istanbul. There's a Christian church here that meets in a beautiful old chapel that's attached to the Dutch consulate, so we went one Sunday. As we entered, we met a young man from Madison who's parents just moved to Starkville. Thought it was pretty cool, in a city of 20 million people (mostly Muslims), to meet someone basically from my hometown of Jackson. It got better.

The service starts and they do the "stand up and introduce yourself" routine for first-timers. I introduced us and mentioned that we were from Mississippi. Out of about 120 people in the room, we promptly met, in addition to Madison kid:

1. Guy sitting next to us: MSU grad from Meridian.
2. Woman sitting behind us from Olive Branch.
3. A couple from Batesville.
4. A church staff member from Pelahatchie.

This is OUR English-speaking Christian congregation in the midst of a million mosques.

Did they have some sort of Ward’s or Krispy Krunch chicken sweepstakes with 2 weeks in Istanbul being the grand prize? This seems kind of wild.
Maybe the word got out that it's a great place to eat your way across two continents. And walking up and down the hills here will get you in shape with a quickness, so you're always ready for the next kebob.

There is no argument. Pluto is a planet because I learned as such circa 1980.
Is Ceres a planet? People were taught it was until 1850. One thing is for sure. We don’t have 9 planets like we were all taught growing up. We either have 8 or we have 13 that we know of.

FWIW, it is still classified as a planet. A dwarf planet.
A dwarf planet is not a type of planet, it's a completely separate category that just happens to have a similar name. Thus, Pluto and the other dwarf planets are not considered to be planets.

Did you ask them which logo they preferred?

The church staff member from Pelahatchie may be my cousin (or his wife).

Small world, indeed.
