Listen, I hope you are right. And I'm sure she wants giant gains in football and basketball sooner, not later. But 'looking out for #1' means playing the long game. The longer she can put off canning the Grifter and/or Pike lengthens her job security. Other recent and upcoming changes are window dressing to show she's engaged and doing something but the delaying the only 2 firings/hirings that matter extends her job security. If she ever gets fired it won't be until after one or two of her own hires bust. Not in her career interest to fire anyone soon unless forced by utter, embarrassing failure.

We will see.
We will see. Patience is required. No one wants to hear it but we don't have a Mark Cuban and the last AD didn't do anything for NIL. Worse, he was against it while other schools were going full force into it.

Building Scarlet Knight Enterprises is not window dressing. Getting someone like Oliver Luck to Chair is not window dressing. A number of people moves she's made have not been window dressing.

You are looking at it from a bare minimum perspective, which if you listened to Tate, that's not his expectations. If you talk to her, that's not hers either. To win, you need money. That takes time at Rutgers because we've never had it. Another way to look it for real job security? Turn the dept. around financially and on the courts and fields. Job security? That's real job security in that business.

Outside of Pernetti, no other former AD has moved into any position even close being a P5AD. Job security in that business, especially at Rutgers, isn't status quo. It's winning and making the dept financially sound. She does that, she won't be the Rutgers AD very long.

Those things are window dressing since they will not impact the elephant in the room, or shall we say, firing the guy who would possibly be the worst football coach in a room full of nurses.

Put shiny mag wheels and the best stereo money can buy in a 1952 Packard sedan and it’s still a dog at the racetrack. window dressing.

Shelby will be shocked if there‘s another HC here before 2030 despite 4 more years of the same 72 % or higher conference losing we will see.

Two straight 4 win seasons or no bowls in the next three years might force her hand, but that‘s such a low bar that even The Grifter should surpass those results.

You consider SKE bringing in millions of dollars in branding and NIl deals as window dressing?

Youre too fixated on Schiano. Hes not a good coach. But thats just one of the many issues. Bigger issue than him is money because no real coach is coming here without it. It all starts there.

agree, this is something that needs fixing before everything else at this point in time. My problem is that there are massive changes known and unknown and Rutgers needs to raise its profile substantially. Egg meets chicken here.....

🎯 It really is mostly that. Everyone gets to spend the $15.6M but then you have Texas and it’s $30M and Oregon and it’s $27.8M and the top SEC and B1G schools spending >$20M and you realize how far below par RU is. Even if a player like Duff or someone else has a spectacular damn near Heisman season, an Ohio state or A&M or Michigan can money whip them to their team…and if someone offered you that kind of $$ at that age you’d take it too in a blur!

Greg said something interesting in his Big press conference. I am not sure if he said the is the deepest team he has had at Rutgers this time around or in all of his years. I think it had to be this time. But regardless, you just said you have the players, you have the talent and you have the depth you need to compete. That statement may come back to him if this season doesnt go well. Another 5-7 or even a 6-6 with a couple of bad losses mixed in could be a problem for him. I thought his opening statement was really good and gave a nice background of where he started and how he got here. Hope he can put it all together
