Big East spending was estimated to be up 80% this year. 700k last year is equivalent $1.26 M.If Payne got 700k last year God knows what he would want now.
Rivera should be a lot more affordable. I’d take him as a depth piece
Do you think we would take Fisher back ahead of Rivera and Payne? Who knows how much we were set to pay Nwuli and what we have left to use.Big East spending was estimated to be up 80% this year. 700k last year is equivalent $1.26 M.
We need to be bold and take advantage of this. Not necessarily with Payne but definitely need to add a 4/5 and anyone else who can help.
No it just means they have a week to declare their intention to enter the portal. They can take as much time as they need to find a team although they will eventually need to enroll and sign up for some sham classes to be eligible. The article includes the following statement: “For the players included in the injunction, the Portal will be open from Aug. 3 through Aug. 10.”
Am I understanding this correctly to mean all of these players who just became eligible have only a week to find a team?
I am sure they have been in contact with teams knowing how this would go. Anyone who thought this ruling would go any other way is living in fantasyland. Once Pandora’s box was opened any challenge to a NCAA rule will likely succeed. Might as well just make the NCAA a professional league. No it just means they have a week to declare their intention to enter the portal. NCAA is constantly losing in court. The thought was that the House settlement and the NCAA adopting new rules would bring some sanity back to the game, but they totally botched the implementation of the 5 in 5 rule.I am sure they have been in contact with teams knowing how this would go. By announcing it this Spring but saying it won't apply until next season, they eliminated an entire class of players. That made the case easy for the lawyers who argued the rules unfairly bar the Class of 22 HS players from significant earnings.
The idiocy is stunning.NCAA is constantly losing in court. The thought was that the House settlement and the NCAA adopting new rules would bring some sanity back to the game, but they totally botched the implementation of the 5 in 5 rule.

TBT style! Can play with our name on the front of the jersey, even if you have no connection to the school! Coming soon to a CBB team near you!We are hurtling towards non students playing. Reminds me of the old time semi pro company sponsored teams.
