Also said 6 teams will get NCAA bids and 6 teams spent more than $14.5 Million in NIL.

“Marquette, Providence, Xavier, Connecticut, St. John’s and probably Georgetown have all spent probably more than that,” Pitino said of the $14.5M figure.

Shocked he left out Nova. If you swap Nova for Georgetown it would match with the 6 BE teams picked to make the NCAAT and the 6 top Transfer Classes in the Conference, all in the top 15.

My guess is he stated it incorrectly because he was talking off the cuff.

Like how Saint Danny on the recent Fanta podcast went down the list discussing all the BE teams and coaches he thinks are good/going to be good and didn’t mention us until Fanta prompts him. And then talks about Sha having taken St Pete’s to a Sweet 16

It’s all BS with these guys. Especially in the offseason.

Get them to talk about basketball, great. But them opining on other topics is often a mess.

This will briefly occupy the offseason news cycle before being tabled and quickly replaced by other news.

For what it’s worth, I also don’t think that Quick Rick meant that Georgetown was one of those six NCAA teams, but just that they were one of the six that spent above that threshold.
