Gambling and sports wagering and wagering on all kinds of things (virtually everything) have become much more common. There is even one
Congress can't even ban this stuff and almost all those folks, including the president are making money off being in office. I don't think most people really care that much.
With conflicts of interest being very common these days in business, in government, in all aspects of life, I am not sure that in future years this will be banned. Probably attempts at control of some kind will be attempted- maybe limits on how much players can bet on a game, etc.
