Glenn Viehmeyer – Born and raised in Gandy, Glenn graduated from Baker Rural HS in 1920. Glenn is an internationally renowned horticulturalist who Introduced roughly 50 new varieties of crop plants—including chrysanthemums, penstemons, roses, and strawberries—while working at the University of Nebraska North Platte Experiment Station. Logan County, Nebraska
- Established in 1884 and named after Civil War General John Logan
- The county population is ~670 (2025).

- Stapleton is the county seat and largest village in the county.
- The county is approximately 571 square miles.
- The first railroad built through Logan County was in 1911.
- Logan County is part of the North Platte metropolitan area.
- Stapleton was established in 1912 when the Union Pacific Railroad was extended to the village.
- Gandy was originally the county seat and the largest village in the county until the railroad bypassed the town and connected to Stapleton in 1913. In 1929, the county voted to change the county seat to Stapleton.
- Logan County is a cattle heavy county, with around 40,000 head of cattle.
