I’m afraid there are going to be a lot of empty chairbacks this time. I’ve already talked to one season ticket holder that said he would not be ordering tickets since you have to sign up for State1878 and he’s not a member and doesn’t want to be. I don’t think he’ll be alone.

State 1878 is FREE for anyone that buys football season tickets. Do we have that many folks that buy chairback baseball season tickets but don't buy football season tickets?

You have to think there will be some deadline for season ticket holders to buy tickets for the Diamond Dog Classic after which they will be released to the general public or Bulldog Club members.

I think it’s free for the first year only. After that, there is a monthly fee. I’m a season football ticket purchaser but not a member of State1878. And I know many others that haven’t signed up.

The content on State 1878 is pretty good. Anyone that has football season tickets & hasn't signed up should consider doing so at least while it is free.

Same here. I'm pretty PO'ed about it. Forcing State 1878 on folks as a prerequisite to purchase tickets is just another level of nickel and diming fans. We're already "donating" to the bulldog club for our football tickets. And the season ticket holders already get enough with their sweetheart deal. As soon as that expires I'll get me a pair of chairbacks before they cool off from the last game of the season. I'm already on the list and should have enough BC points to make it happen.

In 2019 the chairback season ticket holders locked up their "rights" to the season tickets for a onetime $1,500 per seat gift. That deal was supposed to be for 10 years but had a year extended a year for covid (the gift that keeps on giving). They also have to purchase the tickets, but that amount is unknown to the general public. So, nobody else has a shot at getting chairback season tickets until at least 2030. That's enough of a perk for what works out to $150/year. It ticks me off on an annual basis that these same folks have these seats locked up and leave so many of them empty for most of the season . That's not the way things were handled for last year's classic and it was a great success. Why change it?

Why didn’t you buy a seat in 2019? The price was crazy low back then

Life in 2019 was a lot different for me. Way too many activities with my kids to think about driving 4 hours to watch baseball for the weekend. Now they're both MSU graduates and I have more time and money on my hands.

It was $3,000 per at regular price. They ran a sale for six weeks at the $1,500 price. Why the sale? My only guess is funds were not rolling in like they thought.
