Most heartbreaking moment as a fan

The 2003 Marquette loss. Such a disappointment. 2001 USC was a huge letdown too.

In football, it would have been:

1. 2018 Georgia - showed us how far away we still were/are from competing for an SEC title. A Close loss would have been ok, but we got shellacked
2. 2017 Florida - Said the "F" word at church where I was watching the game - need I say more?
3. 2007 Tennessee - Lonas Sieber

For my friend, the 1993 loss to Michigan was the worst; he was the biggest Mashburn fan ever (I did not meet him until much later, but he always talked about it).

Was there in 2018. Not sure Fromm would have had to washed his jersey for the next game. Scared to death to try and win instead of hoping not to lose. Score was “only” 34-17 but they were in total control.

Probably worse in 2023 after starting out 5-0 and beating Florida. Now they more than likely wouldn’t have beaten Georgia anyway but it was embarrassing how soft that game plan was.

13/24. If you shoot even 70%, that's an extra 4 points. They shoot 80%, that's 2. There is your margin. They must have a voodoo doll in Storrs.

They would have won their 7th against Michigan if the refereeing was even moderately fair. Some of those calls on Demary were terrible, very one sided as a whole. 22 fouls to 13 and Michigan outscored them by 13 at the line. And Michigan was clearly the more talented team.

It's at a point where you need the refs to help you beat them in the F4.

UConn's blue blood resume is built on beating Duke, beating UK, and getting inferior opponents in the Finals.

They beat what might have been the best Duke team ever in 99.
They beat Duke in the semis in 2004, and that involved being down by 8 with 2 1/2 minutes left and then scoring the last 10 points. Long before the "Cal, WTF are you doing" wins in 11 and 14.

And their final opponents= Duke, Georgia Tech, Butler, UK, San Diego St., Purdue., and Michigan.

99 was their big breakthrough, had 3 Elite 8's prior to that but could never get over the hump. That Laettner shot crushed their first chance, had the game won. They've since had plenty of payback.

One of the great stories of their 90's teams was Calhoun losing Marcus Camby to Calipari at UMass. Camby grew up 30 miles from UConn, wound up player of the year in 96, losing to UK in the Finals. That was ultimately all vacated due to Calipari infractions recruiting Camby.

Had UConn landed Camby as they likely should have, who knows when their run would have begun. Camby's tenure coincided directly with Ray Allen's. Kentucky had the best team in 96, but Camby and Allen on the same team would have been really tough.

I'd be curious as to who Duke fans hate more at this point, UConn or UK.
