Bama preparing the bag if KT shows out.
If he shows out like some people think he might, Bama may not be able to stay in the bidding. We'll see. Potential is off the charts. But lots of QBs have great potential.
See if he wants to come coach him.
It will all depend on how much he has improved his accuracy and if our line can give him enough time to do anything other than run for his life.
All the talent and potential in the world but will max out wherever the oline allows him.
I can think of one place we cannot allow him to go
I think he gets all the time in the world until he shows the world otherwise w/ his arm. The last thing anyone's going to let him do is break containment and run (while the game's in-reach). If the opponent's up 31-13 in the 4th, they'll let him run all he wants and gladly give-up the meaningless (although impressive) 178 rushing yards. I'm giving Lebby and the OL the benefit of the doubt (i don't why) but everyone know's Lebby's perfectly capable of fielding an OL that gets blown off the ball by 3 down linemen (and 8 dropping back in coverage), in which case KT'll be forced to run for his life.
Damn I'd love to see what Mullen could do with KT.
I think a big part of Bama’s problem is all their success. How many fans would really be willing to sacrificially empty their wallet chasing a national championship
experience they’ve already had umpteen times in recent memory??? Seems like it could be an issue.
This thread is very Mississippi State-ish. Instead of being excited about the player everyone is talking about where he’s transferring to.
I’m excited about him. And I think it will take a lot for someone to get him to transfer. If he does good enough to get a Texas to throw Texas money at him, that’s still a net good for us.
I want to believe on KT. I just need to see him consistently complete some forward passes before I start sprouting wool.

Same here. But even worst case, he should be similar to Relf or Fitzgerald. I think with him & the backup we brought in were better at qb than most MSU teams in the 52 years I’ve been a fan.
So was Cam Newton, remember that quote where he said to Megan Mullen, "the money was just too good Ms Megan". All of Taylor'$ family, friend$, and "advisor$" will be 100% behind him $taying here, until, they $tart $eeing the offer$ roll in.
I'm the same. But, he's a true Sophomore that has started exactly ONE (1) game, the last game of last season. He's 43-77 55% with 4 TDs and 1 Int. He has more rushing attempts (82) than passing attempts (77) and that's not a good sign for longevity as a QB especially in the SEC. I expect him to be much improved this season, but to get your hopes up and crown him MVP at this stage isn't prudent. If he does improve as much as most think, he will be a hot commodity with at least 2 more years available

I know I threw out a bag and got him and Wommack from the portal with my Oregon dynasty.
I don't think we should expect him to methodically slice and dice defenses in Year 2. But I'm yugely optimistic about his arm strength and athleticism. Bombs away + garbage runs with secondaries skewed to take those away could allow him to be very very productive next year. This of course assumes that the offensive line is at least serviceable.
A suggestion to keep yourself reasonable in your expectations is to revisit Dak’s trajectory. He was in his 4th season on campus under Mullen before he became Super Dak.
I expect lots of flashes of brilliance and lots of WTF mistake filled games, especially against great SEC defenses. He’ll single handedly keep us in some games we shouldn’t be in, but he might make the mistakes that cost us some wins we (and Lebby) really need.
I’m gonna try to enjoy the ride. Glad he’s a Bulldog.

That's my thinking. He won't leave for an SEC foe, it'll be like if the team falls apart, Lenny gets fired, and he just needs to get out. Assuming he's as good as everyone says.
All our fans see is his ability to run. That's all they care about. They are so used to bad QB play they just default to a guy who at least has a higher positive play ceiling.
They forget that when the defense figures out a runner can't throw, it's curtains.
To be fair that's what he was asked to do. He hadn't been prepared to do anything else. Hopefully a full year later that has been addressed.
