Heading into the 2026 season, the Rutgers football team is just one of six Power Four teams to have never hosted a College GameDay show.

What will it take for the Scarlet Knights to leave the list in 2026? There are a couple of scenarios.

Why would they? Gotta give ESPN a reason (i.e., a competitive high-profile game of ranked opponents).

Carlin survived the cuts but Bart Scott (his partner) didn't. Looks like Carlin will be the Lone Ranger on his show

Their best chance, where they would be tangentially involved rather than the focus, would have been if the Red Bandanna game had been Saturday afternoon on the 25th "anniversary" of 9-11.
