Love seeing other users stand up to that dipshit, but this is starting to get off topic with politics.

Back on topic:

Pass the ball and go Hawks!
I wonder who's been seeing me post, "go Hawks!", in all my responses to his posts that he supposedly can't see. 🤔

You just can’t help yourself, can you? 🤣

Why cant you stay in your lane? There is a whole thread just for you.

Go there and provide data clearly showing Brian was qualified for the OC position when hired.

Then, while in YOUR THREAD, regale me with more of your in-depth perspective regarding pre-snap motion and it non-impact on blocking.

But please take the hint from all these people and blather away IN YOUR THREAD.

So I'm not allowed to call out 2D?

Sure man. He's the one running a lie. IN THIS THREAD.

I've never said pre-snap motion doesn't have an impact on blocking. Read better

You did say that.

Read what you post before posting because every response from me to you will involve pre-snap motion from here on out.

You should learn the game. Its quite obvious you have never played let alone coached.

Go to YOUR THREAD and call me and whoever else out you want THERE.

NOW, READ my last statement above and lets see how good YOU actually READ.

I didn't create that thread.

I will respond to your mischaracterization in the same thread that you mischaracterize me in.

You may think that's what I've said about motion. But that's not what I actually said.

I know what I've posted and not posted. So the burden of proof is on you

Which is one reason why he's not the great coach he could have been. He saw some terrific offenses under Hayden Fry--as well as great defenses--and he apparently decided he wanted no part of scoring a bunch of points. A psychologist would have an interesting task in trying to find out why.
What’s Hayden vs Kirk winning %s

Well folks, I know a lot of you are going to see a wordy post from me and not even want to read it.

But out of concern for a fellow poster, hang in there with me for a bit on this one.

I think it might be time to get serious about 2D. He hasn't posted on here for a while. So it might be a thought to go a little easier on him, if he returns.

Here's what we know:

- 2D has not posted on here since creating the "magical Kinnick" thread at 2:31am on 7-4.

-He ended his OP by saying, "and as always, go Hawks!"

-Yes, as always. Just like 2Deceptive had finished a previous post, at 1:48 that morning with, "go Hawks!" Just like he finished his 1:43am post with, "go Hawks!" And just like...wait...2D ends with "go Hawks", in no other easily found or remembered post from him ever.

-But what can be easily found, is a post from me at 1:38 that morning, in which I ended with, "go Hawks!" 🤔 (Post 82 in this thread).

-Add in the fact that the nature of that post (82) was 2D having been placed on ignore by Flick, for comments he made about me, and it's quite reasonable to assume 2D was mocking me in the three posts he ended with, "go Hawks!"

-Except the only problem is, 2Dishonest has been claiming for months to have me custom code deleted from his screen.

How can he mock my usage of, "go Hawks", when he supposedly has me deleted from his screen?

Are we starting to understand why we haven't heard from 2Dug-in-a-hole (an avid poster) in almost 7 days?

A part of me truly does feel sorry him. 2Decipherable had been exposing his lie for months, to those that have paid attention. I kept warning him that at some point, he was going to make it too obvious to others besides myself.

Seems 2D has realized that has happened. A brief, valiant effort to cover up his "go Hawks" mockings at 1:43 and 1:48am, was made in the patriotic (go Hawks) "magical Kinnick" thread 2Deliberate created at 2:31am.

Basically, sometime around 2am, 2Dumb realizes he's blown his own cover. So naturally, at 2:31, 2Deceptive creates the ultimate Hawkeye feel-good (and patriotic) thread, in which he, "guesses to feel sentimental", and is able to finish the post with a good 'Ole, "and as always, go Hawks!"

And now, no one's heard from 2D since.

Trust me, there is extensive further reasoning to suggest that 2D has been running a lie. Including twice having been caught claiming to have had me placed on ignore, commenting about me/responding to my posts through 3rd party posters, continuing to post about me and showing up in threads to defend himself against words of mine he supposedly couldn't see.

But I'm not trying to burry 2D. He's made a mistake. For some reason, I feel more willing to forgive a mistake here, than forgive the jackasses that have wrongfully bestowed negativity upon the Hawks.

I'd posted a couple.months ago, once I realized confidently enough that 2Dishonest was at play, that I was going to lay off him for a while (and did), as I felt bad for him then.

So, let's strike a truce, 2Diplomatic. Admit your lie, and I will no longer seek confrontation with you, which is something I have, in fact done.

I might have a comment flow organically here and there. But I won't seek you out.

But you'll hear from me if you pull that mischaracterization crap, capeche?

Otherwise, carry on with what can be a positive Hawkeye enery from you

This guy is actually ruining many threads on here. Are there any mods at all on this board?
Thats why people need to just put him on ignore and FFS stop replying/engaging with him.

Not a lot happens during the off season, so seeing long interviews like this is a breath of fresh air. The ANF guys are the best, so for them to speak to Lester for so long is an amazing listen. Enjoy Hawk fans!

Ignore the retard who will inevitably derail this thread and always remember, Pass The Ball!

These guys have an amazing podcast. I learn stuff every time I watch it.

No, TL didn't mention going more vertical than horizontal. He agreed with that characterization, which was presented to him in a question.

No, the explosive plays work BECAUSE of the run game
I think he did allude to the fact that they may be able to go over the top, or have enough capability to, that the defenses would have to play that way, the safety would have to play deeper and couldn't cheat up.

Correct. It's no coincidence that we had less wins after the B1G West was dissolved. Iowa, for all intents and purposes, was better than every team in that division, with only Wisconsin challenging us as the top team. Now that we no longer continually play the Purdue's and Northwestern's of the conference on a yearly basis, but instead top 15 programs like Oregon and USC, there's a higher chance for more losses as the competition has taken a step up. But now instead of being blown out with zero offensive output, we're pushing these teams to the last minute of the game, but sadly we lack the athletes that they do. It will take time for us to change the perception of our offense in the eyes of potential recruits and portal players. No one is asking for thr air raid, but instead for a competent, effective, and dangerous offense where we see production everywhere.

Sadly, some retards think 2023 is peak football (including blow out losses to good teams). Luckily they'll never be on the Iowa staff, nor will they ever rub elbows with Kirk.
Lester points out in the ANF interview that the Air Raid is dead. 23 teams the NFL are running some variation of the Shanahan system because the Air Raid is too one dimensional. Playing for a team that runs the Shanahan system gives you a head start playing in the NFL because you have a step up. You can plug and play with how to learn the new systems with only slight variations in terminology.

Yes, he said that in response to a question.

Did not bring it up on his own, as 2D presented

The QB situation is going to be fascinating and, I’m hoping, not frustrating as hell. I think KF and TL may actually prefer to play both QBs all season in some sort of rotation mode. It could backfire spectacularly. Or maybe it’s a mad genius approach.

I don't see Kirk playing 2 QB's. It's just not like him.

But I agree it is going to be fascinating. Hopefully whoever wins the job is serviceable from the start, because it DOES make a difference who the QB is.

"He saw some". and ALOT that were not also. Continuously we need to go back to revisionist history. Fry had a bunch of teams that struggled BADLY against the better teams in the conference when it came to scoring points. That's just a fact. Go back to many of the games against OSU, Michigan, and the better teams with a pulse, and see all the games where we struggled to score more than 7-10 points. Even in our GREAT year 1985, (where we had THREE 1st team AA on the offense), we struggles against OSU, and had to kick 4 field goals to get 12 points against Michigan. Another fact is much of the league was just bad or not very good. We've covered this same ground so many times, just how bad, NW, Indiana, Wisconsin, Illinois, Minn. and others were for much of that time. You understand why it was called the big TWO and the little eight, right, and Frankly OSU is a MUCH better consistently team today then they were then. Fry's teams excelled against these poor teams, not to mention his abusing a really bad ISU team for much of his tenure, and he ran up the scores on those teams whenever he could leaving longtime fans with fuzzy fading memories of "the good old days".

It was well before my time, but I've read and heard recordings of commentators discussing Evy's great Rose Bowl-winning teams of 1957 and 1959, and among the many observations was this: "Iowa will give you one touchdown, and they'll take two." Evy had some great defensive teams at Iowa, there's no debating that, but he knew offense, and he didn't mind winning 37-27 or 28-17 or 42-20. And Hayden Fry had a similar mindset. He, too, had some tremendous defensive teams in Iowa City, but he also had some great offenses. He didn't mind winning 48-42 when necessary.

I think the pathological fear of scoring is the fundamental reason--there are other reasons--that Ferentz will go down in my mind as a good coach who could've been great. Evy and Fry respected the offense as well as the defense. Ferentz has never embraced great offenses, despite watching Fry operate for many years. Maybe in his old age he'll finally allow Lester to put some big numbers on the scoreboard. But even if he does, KF would be about 26 years too late to the party.
Now maybe go back and do some actual research on just WHO Fry scored all those points against, and what kind of teams they were, and not just your fading memory. My guess is you'll find his offense against the really good teams was not any better if even as good as the current teams. And if you can't see the difference between the Wisc, NW, Illinois, Minn, Indiana, and ISU teams that Fry coached against and the current ones the last decade, then I don't know what to tell you.
