Yes Kirk seems to own PJ, but this year's game on the calendar is interesting. After the meat grinder three-game Big Ten opening series Iowa will get a week off- well timed. Then it is on the road to Minny.

Like him or not (I'm among the not) PJ is a good coach. Losing to the Hawks has to eat at his innards. While grateful for the bye week, I expect a fourth consecutive tough game. Shark-like, the Goofs may be smelling blood in the water when the Hawkeyes come to town.

Last year was not a tough game. Hawks beat them like a rented mule, 41 - 3.

I believe they have a bye week before too…… so both teams should be fairly well rested ….. losing to the rodents is not an option!

I've watched a handful of season predictions, and so far it's been almost a 50/50 on whether people think Iowa beats Minny. It feels like every year analysts put the goofs on a pedestal, but we beat them every time. It'll be a tougher go this year with a new QB, a younger team, and it being at Minnesota though. So I don't expect a blow out. I think it'll be a slow, ugly, low scoring affair.

Hot take, but also rooted in recent matchup outcomes in general: Hawks will dump truck all four trophy opponents this year. With the closest game being Minnesota since the other 3 are in kinnick.
