As long as he stays in a boot all season I'll be ok with 14 losses. Injuries
Yeah supposedly two guys were in the rear on stretchers being rolled down the hallway

Strictly a precaution and to let him fully heal. He rushed back last year to help the team. Now it’s let him fully heal.
No sir. The genius that is 1987 has let us know that they have concocted a plan to have him walk in a boot in case the year doesn’t go as they hoped. Another genius liked it, so you know it’s true.
To be fair, he's out of his wheelchair. So, making progress!

It was widely known he was in a boot. I’m sure the crutches are just a precaution. He obviously wasn’t 100% when he returned last year. I’d guess he had another procedure after the year(he didn’t according to a quick AI search.) just a precaution to let the Jones fracture heal all the way. I don’t care how long he sits in the summer as long as he’s ready for the season.
It appears that his foot was good enough by the 6-8 week timeline to finish the year, but generally guys take 3-4 months to return to sports after that injury. Slow recovery because of lack of blood flow. Good time over the spring and summer to let it fully heal and stay immobilized as long as possible.

Kam Williams was the key to a 40 win season. I think if JQ and Lowe played we'd have won at least 30 games last year!
The usual suspects are doing the negativity thing again. Pretty surprising.
I give you two names with regard to foot and lower leg injuries: Bill Walton and Sam Bowie. Better odds to play this year than JQ last year but certainly not 100%
Just another reason why Kusturica was a must-get for Pope. Kam is coming off a pretty significant injury. Hawthorne is still a project. Could have really used another high-level wing that can create offense off the bounce. People love to overlook glaring holes like this in the summer months when our roster is favorably analyzed from our myopic little blue ivory tower, but these holes come back to bite you more times than not.

Back last season and we lost. Kam might not ever be Kentucky material we don’t know. We’ve got guys like Hawthorne that might end up at Eastern. We’ve missed tons of recruits, most / all top recruits, and this team is mid. Injuries are part of the game, recruiting well is part of the game, bad coaching can be part of the game. So far Pope isn’t even within arms reach of UK quality and it’s not changing. He’s not young, it’s probably the least qualified coach we’ve ever hired. Ready for this next mid pack year and then we can finally agree 80% strong to remove. With the new AD, he’s gonna want his guy anyway.

Honestly watching that video of the team walking in with Kam in a boot really made me realize this season might get extremely ugly. We just don't have star power. We don't. We missed on Stokes and got so desperate that we made Mom one of the highest paid players in college ball if not the highest. Seeing Noah lead the pack and possibly be a leader this year is just scary.
I hate to be negative but at the same time I can't help see what I see. Imo this might be the worst year out of the three. We are extremely mediocre around the whole roster top to bottom.
When our two starting guards need a breather who's coming in? When Moreno needs a breather who's coming in? Every position I have the same question. That's on top of me already thinking the starters aren't great.

Nothing wrong with predictions tho. If I'm real with my own kids about things I'm gonna be real about a basketball team.they are 9 and 10 by the way....much less grown adults.
I'm just used to Kentucky having at least one unicorn even if they aren't a top ten pick or all American. Amari Williams for instance, when he walked in the building he was a presence. He looked like a UK player. Last year Oweh, Mo, and florida boy had a aura about them even if they weren't stars. I'm just not liking the way this team looks.

Moreno..............after "FTT" there's no one other than Potter so that's a question mark for sure. Hopefully "FTT" stays healthy.
I honestly think this is the most talent Pope has ever had, he's never had 2 PG that can create for 3 point shooters like Wilkins & Diallo.

When this guy was a kid he would wait until his daddy went to bed and sneak away into the laundry room to obsessively huff his daddy's jeans. His mom would often find him the next morning passed out on top of a pile of his daddy's jeans and underwears.
I had the same reaction. These guys just don’t look like killers. Guys like Joe Crawford and Ramel would punk this group in an instant and those teams kind of sucked out loud.

Ordinarily takes a staff, who inherited zip, a couple years to get it really going. Smart fans get that. Takes a bit of experience, knowledge and patience.
