I recently replaced Samsung 55 curve tv with a 65 Vizio.

I want to put 55 on my screened in porch. It will be about 5 ft from screen wire on a sold north wall with TV facing the south.

I see these covers in Amazon, but nothing that’s made for the Curve.

Will one of these covers work? I see that they are covered top, bottom, sides, back, with a flap for front. Will these allow enough heat to escape during use, or will I have to totally unwrap it every time?

What say you?

Save your $$$ and just use a black garbage bag. I use one on my TV by my pool and it works fine. Also, i live in Florida and it gets constant sun and occasional rain.

There was a segment on "Ask This Old House" where the electrician installed a cover for someone. It was a pretty complicated and extensive process. The cover probably cost as much as a new television would.

I moved mine outside, not a curved. If it goes out then they give me an excuse to get a new one inside. It's gone fine. Faces south as well. More than 5 foot but not covered. Maybe 10 ft away. Would have to be strong to get wet but does get mist and sun directly on it.

More worried about humidity than actual rain blowing in. Cabinets will trap more moisture inside. Since it’s over 5 years old, I’ll probably just hang it on the wall and hopefully get 5 more years out of it.

Find somewhere inside to put the old TV. Find a different TV on Facebook Marketplace for pennies and hang that outside. I am currently sitting outside watching on my $25 TV.

There was one like this on the deck of the cabin I bought. Well the one here was older and cheesier but this one will do

Then you should be good. It's very humid where I live and mine have done fine outside. I've had more trouble with putting my old speaker bar outside than my TVs.

I’ve had one outside for about 7 years now and it’s still going. No cover on it but it’s covered by the porch roof. I’m in Mississippi, so I’m guessing the humidity is not that big of a deal for them.

I live in coastal Georgia and have had flat screens outside on a screened porch for at least 15 years. No cover, no trash bag, just bring them inside if a hurricane is coming. Never had one die, just rotated in an old one from inside as I've upgraded. Easily get 5 years or more from each one.

If you’re considering spending money on covering up a Samsung TV on your porch, maybe also invest in some tiny cocktail umbrellas to cover up all the fresh piles of dog poop in the yard. Same general principle. Only difference is that the dog poop will actually last longer. You’re on borrowed time with that TV as it is, I promise you.
