For many years in the past, England was known for being too defense oriented. That has not been the case for at least 20 years. But today the Brits went back to their old modus operandi of passive football and it burned them. I was rooting for Argentina, so I'm happy.

I’ve never seen a team do what England did to that extent. Once they scored the goal they sat back in a shell and tried to get everyone in the box. Did they not learn from Egypt? It’s not like Argentina was so good that England was forced to do that, they actually chose to do it that way. They clogged the center of field and the box and let Argentina control the ball on the wings. Once the first 2-3 crosses came into the box and there were wide open Argentina player running onto the crosses things should have changed right then. But Tuchel doubled down.. ridiculous
