It would get all of yall who like to complain about our football team but don't donate to the NIL foundation to directly give back through purchases made.

Cool concept, and I give the Vols credit for doing something outside the box like fully integrating an entertainment district while we’re still sitting on 50 yard line metal bleachers.

That said, I’m skeptical about how much this is really going to revolutionize their NIL program. Developers are footing the entire bill, and therefore, they’re also going to own 95% of the revenue according to the story.

If the developers want to have customers they have to provide entertainment, to provide entertainment in the NIL era you need to pay athletes. If Tennessee is winning with a dominant program they will make a killing.

If this means automatic wins down the road, then why aren't the Cowboys, the Lakers and the Yankees dominating their respective league every year? Money makes people lazy. Grinders of salt is the way.

Let's use this season as an example for DWS:

ULA Monroe - How many people are going to stay after watching that game? They were selling $11 tickets this past Saturday only there are so many tickets left. There won't be 30,000 at that game

MIZZOU- Same question

AL- You could probably fill it up for that game, with AL fans.............

OU- Same as AL

Vandy & TN Tech- Where's the appeal?????? TN Tech is a noon game, everybody going home

Auburn-noon game, everybody going back home

Ok, but still, what happened? Too expensive? Couldn't find a hotel partner? They went to the trouble of releasing renderings and then just memory holed it.
We Em-stated it, just like very recently daring to have concerts at university venues. Meaning, it was a great idea that we thought about early, before other schools, and that we could have been way ahead of the curve on. But after some debate using our university standards of apprehension and extreme prudence, concern that we might have to break our piggy bank for such a risky venture, and general paralysis of analysis, we just couldn't quite pull the trigger.

We decided instead to wait until everyone else was doing it and see how that goes for them, then once all the other schools announce their cool stuff, we can now slowly and methodically save up the money, then unveil our plans... Thus removing any risk whatsoever and approaching this, like every university project, in an orderly, cost-effective, very engineering-school way.

The renderings I remember looked like they had dropped a Country Inn and Suites behind the end zone.

"Dude", they're already building a new 5 story 122 room Marriott Hotel Madelon literally 2 blocks away. There's another hotel being built behind WalMart Neighborhood Market and across from the Dodge dealership. There's another one being built in front of the theater behind Academy. Those are being built now. Who's going to stay in all of these during Spring Break, from Thanksgiving till baseball season, during the summer when there's no students, no parents, no vendors?

Same place they always are. Not in Starkville. That’s why you pay a premium during peak demand.
