Perhaps not a popular take, but the Oline did do the blocking for an All-American RB. And the thing they really sucked at was in the service of a QB that has no running instincts and likes to hold the ball too long. Had EJ been more of a dancing bear in the backfield, the run blocking would have sucked as well. Or at least that is how we would have perceived it.
I think Uncle was a package deal out the door with the rest of the family, and Rhule traded up. Just like Raiola was a trade up from Austin.

Tradition? How far you going back? They’re not a kid under 25 that would have watched or remotely thought of NU as a power school or a traditional OL school unless they’re talking the steroid era. These kids under 18 haven’t seen us compete for a little OL conference title

Haha I hear. Fact if the matter is when we are recruiting these kids EVERYONE let's them know about that tradition. Whether they seen it with there own eyes or not they know about it. How many times have you heard a recruit interview where they say " I wanna be a part of getting Nebraska back to where they USED to be" ? That's tradition talk right there. They have moms, uncles, dads, coaches who know what Nebraska WAS.

When you hear them talking sellout streak. Do you think that is just random chatter? NO..That's someone who has planted that knowledge on them. Whether we like the coaches or not they have done a hell of a job letting these kids know about what Nebraska was and can be. To think because these kids didn't see it first hand that they don't know about is very shortsighted.

I never seen Jim Brown a day in my life. Only seen Kareem when he was old and had a ball spot in the middle of his head. But you best believe I've heard and know a whole lot about them from uncles, my dad, old coaches, and older friends of mine. It's no different in Nebraska.

Do you know how many 20 something's or 30 something's will tell you Michael Jordan is best basketball player of all time? Even though they NEVER watched him play a game live? Same principle applies here. They have t seen Nebraska or our OL be great live but that tradition is still there and the coaches are rightfully recruiting towards it.

I believe you are replying to an iowa fan pretending to be a husker fan on a husker site.

He thinks that what "kids" are excited about is a 7 win season with a big win over 6 win minny for some weird trophy that no one cares about.

Oh ok. I didn't know. I don't pay that close attention to these post. I generally just respond. I guess I need to start watching closer.

Funny thing is I have nothing against Iowa "the program". They generally get the best out of what they have. Usually that's about 8 wins or so. Nothing wrong with that but if you are not trying to win them all what are you doing.

I'll take a team who wins 5 or 6 when the goal is to win 12 vs a team built to win 8 every year any day of the week.

Offensive lineman were littered throughout the all conference list when Osborne was Coach. I count six after he retired. The last was Spencer Long during Pelini.

Kind of interesting though that they had that many draftable O linemen this past year and they still sucked.

Yeah that's true. But Iowa seemingly recruits and develops QBs and WRs about like we have OL 😂. Let's just say subpar if we wanna be nice about it.

It's a bit more concerning for us and the OL because we have signed a ton of guys who were highly rated and coveted. Unfortunately for whatever reason they haven't met those expectations.

True on all counts. And I'm glad you said at the end ours is more concerning because they have HOPE when we recruit them. Iowa's QB and RB's? Everyone knows they suck before they step on the field. Even the portal guys.

You’ve got kids on this team whose parents were in grade school the last time we won a championship. At this point, the only thing separating Nebraska from any other average program is our loyal fanbase and even that is aging out. A lot of 20-year-olds in the state don't even care, and forget about national appeal. The 1998 orange bowl might as well be the 1925 rose bowl to them, as far as they care. You’re either born into this or you don’t follow it at all. If the program doesn't turn it around soon, hello Sears & Roebuck. Glad we poured millions into a preacher and concrete instead of putting it on the field. Who needs a RB, But I need an extension…

You are back! Love it!

Okay, #.744 you still never told us which season was the season that "mattered" for iowa and you never told us the last meaningful game that iowa played in...are you ready to finally tell us?

Why are you hung up a some "significant" game?

Is it because Nebraska football hasn't done much since Cheatin Tommy retired?

I heard the PAC wants a replacement when Oregon State leaves.

You brought it up!

You brought up this "When was the last time that Nebraska played in a meaningful/significant game"

I said vs Miami in the NC game...

Then I asked you when the last time Iowa played in a significant game and you still won't answer
