I liked both those films but Diane Kruger saved them both imo. Helen Mirren and Jon Voight were perfectly cast in the 2nd I will say. But...this is why we watch.Hmmm, great question. My favorites change from time to time but recently:
...National Treasure
They should call those Bond movies the Bond Identity….no cheeky fun, no suave and debonair dialogue, just turned them into run of the mill action movies.Daniel Craig >>> anyone else playing 007.
No Bull Durham?Field of Dreams
The Natural
For Love of the Game
Only ones...
No Bull Durham?
Nope. I can enjoy the Major League ....but it's not a "must." If you grew up in the 50s and 60s baseball was a way of life. Every spring and summer, on your bike, glove hanging on bat and find a few guys to play scrub. I could recite the lineup of all 16 MLB teams and approximate their average, Hrs and RBI.No Bull Durham?
I was the same way with baseball growing up, but I grew up in the 70’s and 80’s…that’s why I love all baseball movies. And fortunately I passed that love on to my son and hopefully onto both of my grandsons when they get older.Nope. I can enjoy the Major League ....but it's not a "must." Every day waited for the paper to scan the box scores. The pageantry of HS football in Pa. stole my devotion and I moved on the play and coach. But when my sons came of age, I rediscovered baseball (pitching BP and coaching too much). Those movies allow me to revisit the hopes and dreams of my youth.
Both of my sons played a little college ball and I always had a bucket of balls and pitched them bp till my arm went numb. Those were among the greatest times of my life.I was the same way with baseball growing up, but I grew up in the 70’s and 80’s…that’s why I love all baseball movies. Same with my son and I am paying for all the bp these days with a bad rotator cuff. Both of my sons played a little college ball and I always had a bucket of balls and pitched them bp till my arm went numb. Those were among the greatest times of my life.
This is true. TCM has much more variety. Right now I’m watching Bad Day at Black Rock. There are 100’s of movies amc, fx etc could play and yet they are stuck playing the same movies over and over again.
few good men,
Equalizer again and again,
Marvel,
Cast away,
Etc etc.
Stupid spectrum had that on highest tier. I pay 270.00 and yet don’t have highest tier for cable and internet. Just crazy. This is true. TCM has much more variety. Right now I’m watching Bad Day at Black Rock.
Sorry, dawg. Yeah, that sucks.Stupid spectrum had that on highest tier. I pay 270.00 and yet don’t have highest tier for cable and internet. Just crazy.

Not a big movie-watcher.
For some reason Eyes Wide Shut really works for me. (No it’s not the boobs, but I don’t look away.)It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
Fight Club
Eyes Wide Shut
Glengarry Glen Ross
Stand By Me
Three Amigos (what can I say, I always laugh all the way through this movie...)

BTW - The Hustler soundtrack was a thing, and it worked great with the movie, but I'd love an MP4 of just Fats and Eddie talking and the sound of pool balls breaking and going to their destination.
"Shoot pool Eddie."
"I am shooting pool Fats. When I miss, you can shoot."
Like I'm not keeping the TV on until I hear that, as well as the showdown with George C. Scott.
"You owe me money!!!"
No way I turn that off.
This is the very end after Eddie beat Fats so bad he quits. George C. Scott wants his take and Eddie won't have it.
