I think the actions of those war mongers pre-Trump were deplorable. The lies to deliberately enter into costly wars that killed thousands and accelerate our path toward national bankruptcy should have been prosecuted.

But I don’t excuse what Trump has added to the mix. He’s the one that made the political discourse downright nasty. He’s the first president to ever grave dance on fellow Americans (at least in modern memory as far as I can tell).

He’s nothing more than a school yard bully with fifth grade humor and the pettiness of a high school girl. And while that has created a permissive environment for such things, I don’t see why people honor his behavior by playing his game. That path does not bring in the politically disenfranchised and the Dems need to bring them in.

I'm not sure decorum or taking the high road brings in politically disenfranchised either.

I had mixed feelings about Graham because IMO he was always too much of a war hawk. That said a lot of you libs are sick hateful people!
He was a spineless coward just like every other Trump apologist who insists on kissing that bloated *** so they can sit adjacent to power. I’m not mourning his passing and if HE believed in Hell, I hope he’s got a nice seat there.

None of that changes anything about hateful rhetoric toward the deceased being anything but repugnant and reprehensible.
Why would I say anything different about a person who was repugnant and reprehensible while he/she/they was alive. Dying doesn't make anyone a better person, and it doesn't make Kirk or Graham or McConnell or Trump worthy of being mourned. I'll call them all exactly what they were when they were breathing and, yes, I'll be glad when the whole lot are gone.

I'm extremely surprised by this news. Lindsey Graham did not look like someone who was suffering from any health issues. But you never know.

The news is so fresh and so unexpected that I don't even know what to make of it. I would imagine that, from a political standpoint, it favors the Democratic senatorial candidate from South Carolina, and I can't even recall her name. The Republicans need to identify and put up a new Republican senatorial candidate virtually overnight, pretty much like the Maine Democratic Party has to do.

I wonder what words of condolence Cheeto Hitler will come out with. Prepare for something truly crazy.
i told my wife a couple weeks ago he did not look good. He looked either ill or really worried and depressed. Just not a healthy look.

Graham is dead. Mitch is dead. Hopefully Grassley dies soon. None of these Trump supporting f ckwads will get an ounce of sympathy from me.
my friend told me it was the Lord's intervention to help us all. I appreciated his stance with Ukraine, but not so much with NuttyYooHoo.

How on earth do you watch your husband murdered in one of the most gruesome ways possible and decide to drop your kids off at the babysitters for the next year to go on the political equivalent of a book tour?

What kind of person does this?
Grifters? Hustlers? Carnival barkers? ....or maybe she just wanted to fight for his legacy because of her love for her husband. Which still carries a financial benefit for her somewhere and sometimes.

Her message on TPUSA is that women shouldn't be allowed to vote. If this was Charlie's legacy then good riddance to that racist POS.

Not saying what some people are saying is okay, but it’s wild to think this thread would go any other way.

I think some people forget they're on the internet sometimes, cuz this thread has been exceptionally mild considering what else is just a click away.

The inevitable pearl clutching after a public figure dies is almost worse than the mostly bad jokes, but everyone grieves differently. I do it the Kenny Powers way.

The pearl clutching is annoying AF. People like Graham spend years performing tiny little micro aggressions that take away from quality of life and flip flop around with no spine and support someone that is a living shid stain, and then we’re supposed act sad and respectful when they die?

This. The guy made the world a much worse place. I'm not going to feel even a little bad about pointing that out.
