I know we will have the dorky posters that are like "I don't care about the score, I just want to see good clean tough football" but that is a lame answer...

I need to see Ohio held under 17 and I need to see NU in the 40's.

Acceptable would be 2 touchdowns, to feel good would be 3. Something like 31-13. I think the spread is too high.

I don’t care about the score as long as we win

I’m looking for tough, physical play on both sides of the ball and minimal self-inflicted mistakes. Execution is what matters most and we have been lacking at that for quite a long time.

Ohio is not a guaranteed win, It's actually a tough opening game given the amount of roster changes N has made. AI info on returning g starters for Ohio was not correct in my search..

Key Game Results for 2025
  • Notable Wins: A 17–10 regular-season power-conference victory over West Virginia, a high-scoring 52–35 win against Gardner-Webb, and their bowl win. [1, 2]
  • Notable Losses: Competitive road losses to Power Four opponents, including a tight 31–34 season-opener at Rutgers and a 9–37 loss at No. 1 Ohio State. [1]

NU has only scored 40+ a few times in the Rhule era and those were games against very weak noncon opponents. Bobcats are better than that. Plus so many unknowns with our offense. I also agree the spread is too high and don't think we'll score enough to cover. Will be happy to win and very pleased if its more than a 2 score margin.

I want em to win. They’ve lost to worse teams the last 10 years
Well, yeah...you don't go thru 6/7 HCs in a 10 year period by winning!

Regarding the Ohio game, just be able to release the balloons in the first half.
And at least the Huskers waited to schedule the Bobcats until AFTER Solich retired.

Ohio is not a guaranteed win, It's actually a tough opening game given the amount of roster changes N has made. Ohio returns most of the offensive firepower but lost numerous players in the trenches.

Losing 9-37 is competitive?

I wanna see our OL dominate in the run game. Defensively stop run and generate some pass rush WITHOUT having to scheme up pressure.

Do those things and I'll take a score about what you said. 41-17 me.

This is a good answer. I'd like to see a game where there are some running plays with some huge, gaping holes and some passing plays where our QB seems to have all day to throw. Ohio runs for less than two yards a carry. If I have to give a score, 31-10 would be fine.

NU 58 - 17 Ohio

Anything less than that then we're going to be in for a long season of what happened again.

We have similar athletes and they have better coaching and development. Gonna be closer than you think. And yes, there will be alot of bitching on this board during the game.

100-0 wouldn't make me feel good. Let's see what happens against Indiana, our first true test.

Ohio lost a LOT of players on offense:

QB1, RB1, RB2, WR1, WR2, TE1, K1

Top two leading tacklers and several starters on both sides.

If Nebraska doesn't treat these guys like their prison bltch, it will be an ugly season.

Didn't they also lose their HC because he had a bottle of booze in his office?

As long as we win it just doesn't matter. The gap between big 10/SEC and mid-majors is growing every year and we should look really good, just like last year against the patsies. We will be 3-0 and look dominant, and people will think for a second that we might win 7 games. But alas....
