Anyone know the story here? If he was wanting a chance to start, he's damn sure not gonna get that at Auburn because they have most of their staff back, just like us. He was a decent arm outta the pen when he could throw strikes but I don't see them using him any different than we did last year.

I figure he is going with the highest bidder for his services. That's how this works now, right?

Probably not. I had my fill of Dane Burns, but I can see why they would want him. We pick up guys like this too, guys that you think you can tweak a little and they might be great, and sometimes that does happen.

He has a good amount of "experience". We just know that the experience we mostly remember is Georgia hitting the ball so far into the pine trees when it mattered the most and him folding like cheap tent in just about every big situation, especially if you left him in for more than one batter or inning. They didn't live those moments with him like we did.

He was never going to be more than a situational lefty reliever brought in to face 1-2 lefty batters. He wasn't good for any more than that, and wasn't even very good at doing just that either.
