I don't know how many here have been to the Greenbrier, but I had no idea they did this sort of thing. Should be a unique place to watch us lose to Xavier

I had a business trip there in Fall 2018. Sprawling place. Played golf there and sucked mightily, but it was really, really fun (we were the last group on the course). First business trip I was on where the dinner bill was five figures for 10-11 of us.
I went a couple months ago with my wife. It was a different place but a lot of fun. Nothing cheap, but our meals and drinks at the nicer places were under $200 per person. We got 1-2 drinks and not a lot of appetizers or desserts though.
They have a sportsbook now plus their casino. Lots of outdoor stuff like guided fishing, golf, horseback riding, etc.
It looks like this is the night before our home Auburn game, but I went ahead and booked a two night stay solo. Will watch us play Friday night then stay to watch football on Saturday. If anyone else from SPS decides to go, I am going to be there
They had just opened the sportsbook facility a few months before we got there. Watched a huge UFC fight that night in that new lounge. I also laughed watching some of my colleagues take Auburn over us at the sportsbook and lose A LOT (23-9 game on 10/6/18).
Isn't that the game that the idiot savant (Moorhead) actually let someone else call the offensive plays ALLEGEDLY.
Game stats would indicate it was. MSU only threw 17 passes & Nicky Fitz rushed for 195

Our family loves the Greenbrier. The state high school basketball playoffs are held there. The basketball court is in a HUGE ballroom with a very high ceiling. I can't imagine they can get more than 5,000 fans in there.
The above-mentioned sensory overload is real. The wallpaper and carpet in the other part of the hotel was designed by Dorothy Draper, an apparent famous designer from back in the day. A little too much for most peoples' taste. (Evidently, the Grand Hotel in Mackinac liked it because they followed suit with the decor.)
I'm thinking about going to the game just because I like the Greenbrier so much.
The facility is owned by the former governor of the State, a coal magnate worth hundreds of millions, if not more.
If you go, be sure to check out the bunker that was built to house the US government in the event of a nuclear attack on Washington. Fascinating.

The hot springs I think is was sparked it historically, and then it pivoted into a generational resort
jayzus, that color scheme alone would piss me off, especially knowing what I was paying to be nauseous.
It’s going to be kind of awesome to watch a college basketball game against Xavier with 50 people in attendance
Much like a normal mid-week November/December game at the Hump.
The Greenbrier has become an October tradition for me. Something for everyone.

If you told me LT sold them our old end zone bleachers, I’d believe it.
How is that different than the Battle for Atlantis? There are plenty of college basketball events - especially during the holidays - that are played in venues like this. I can assure you any MSU fan that attends, will not find the Greenbrier to be a joke.
On another note, a number of NFL teams have held training camp starting with the Saints back in 2014. The Giants camped there last year.
A little worried we may wander into the wrong ballroom after halftime and spend the second half at a sales convention.
