Here comes the negativity despite us actually having a pretty solid roster and a top 5 portal class.

This kid was just gravy this year and perhaps a vital piece for next year. I refuse to buy hype on any 17 year old. Got burned way too many times in the past. Could be John Wall. Could be SKJ or Quade Green. All in all, he ended up at a west coast school that isn’t a true rival. Not losing any sleep over it.

I was hoping for the kid more so for next year, he's on a minutes restriction by his handlers anyway or so I've read. I don’t look at it as a whiff, Cronin has recruiters that recruit the international scene more than most, in fact, someone on his staff has ties to the kid in some form if I'm not mistaken.

I don’t believe the minutes restriction report. Who does that? He played huge minutes in FIBA. No one is paying a premium for a kid who is capped at low minutes.

This kid is not winning a NC for UK this coming season. He has the ball in his hands with :08 on the clock in the elite 8? Seriously doubt it.

Solid roster, yes…..contender no. So far Pope hasn’t produced a title contender and won’t if he keeps whiffing on top guys.

i dont think its negativity. we are going to be ranked 5th to start the year in the SEC. this kid is a major talent and would have changed our trajectory. pope will likely take us back to what we were in year one....which is a 12 loss team, top 3rd in the conference maybe get to the 2nd weekend of the NCAAT type squad.

He’s being widely projected as the No. 1 overall pick in the 28 draft, so I’m guessing he would’ve been a bit more than “just gravy.” As the Cooper Flagg example showed, 17 ain’t too young when you’re a special talent.

I know it’s customary here to down talk recruits we miss on, but I would’ve loved to have this guy. A player with his talent projection committing to play multiple seasons is something we haven’t seen in a looong time.

I think this guy would have given UK a better shot at being an elite contender. Or if we had used this money on another guy earlier in transfer. Still feel we are one really good player short of a final four contender.

I definitely think it'd a sweet 16 roster. Then it gets dicey.
So pope does just enough to keep his job? We ll see. His seat is extremely hot

I’m sick of sweet 16’s. I know they haven’t been abundant lately but if pope makes the 16 and gets beat again. Start over.

I like our team
25-10ish, Sweet Sixteen, 3rd or 4th in the SEC, and half our fans will gladly see it as "positive momentum."

Oh how the mighty have fallen.

Milan would be a solid 3rd option in a title team. At UK, he will be option #1. You do the math.

You don't know what this team is capable of, you haven't seen them play yet lol.
A SR Momcilovic as a #3 option for anyone in college shows me your lack of basketball IQ fella

He was literally the second option last season for Iowa State, and they were not in the first tier of title contenders. He wouldn't have been the first option for Duke, or Michigan, or UConn, or Houston. He's a complimentary player. You might be able to advance to the Elite Eight if he's your Robin, but certainly not if he's your Batman.

So everybody has UCLA going to the final four with Kustirica right? Right??? Oh wait...
No, but they don't have us going either, or even finishing top 3 in the SEC, so there's that.

But let's keep lowering our standards by using "whataboutisms" with inferior programs.
