Have we talked about Austin Riley’s career collapsing?

There’s been 370 players take 100 plate appearances so far this season. He’s #302 in slugging and wOBA.

He’s #43 of #52 of players with a 3B designation.

Not exactly happening in a vacuum either. He’s declined offensively basically every year since COVID.

Since Covid?

Hes had back to back season ending injuries with last years injury being a meta carpal bone break and a nerve that was severed due to an inside 90 mph fastball hitting his right hand.
He’ll get it going again and his defense is still really good.

You have no clue as to what you’re talking about!

Are we even happy with the pitching recruiting, I feel like it was similar to the offensive line recruiting.

Can you really come back from an injury like that? Severed nerve sounds pretty bad.

Anthropolis is one of the worst GMs in baseball. He gave out lifetime contracts to half the position players that are all mostly underperforming. The pitching staff is a Tommy John factory and he has failed to address any trade needs in the last several seasons.

He has definitely went from looking like a genius to horrible in a few years.

Not exactly sure it was the same thing but Josh Jung for the Rangers (and TX Tech) was raking and really establishing himself and had two season ending injuries one to the hand/wrist. It's taken almost 2 years to get back. Everyday was in jeopardy for him too. Hand injuries for young hitters can be devastating.

Don’t know but he did have a good spring training and was hitting the ball well but he’s definitely in a slump right now.
Hopefully having a chance to go back home for 2-3 days and get re-set for the 2nd half will do him good.
I may shave the beard and cut my hair short again if I were him. The new look this year hasn’t gone well for him so far and baseball players are pretty superstitious about $#|+ like that!

Austin Riley just now with a show of arm strength to get Jake Mangum out at first on a very close play.
27 again showing why he’s in the lineup and the hitting will come back around.
