I’m not really emotionally invested, but I’ll roll with Argentina. They absolutely hate England, but they’re mostly cool to Americans. Not to mention they are the best soccer team on the planet. Vamos Vamos Argentina!

Same. I have a good friend that is from Colombia so I’ll pull for them.
Yeah. I've got several Colombian friends, so I guess I'll pull for them too. And not their men's team, but they have a couple of former Lady Bulldogs playing on their women's team.

Rooting for USMNT feels very similar to rooting for Hailstate football. Boneheaded plays and just non-competitive against non-sunbelt level teams.
What I was thinking as well watching the game last night, get all geeked up aanndd .... nope. Well conditioned for it though.

I'll be watching to the end but don't really have a preference. My wife is a big Haaland fan and the whole scene around Norway has been fun if I had to pick.

Damn you have to feel bad for Egypt. Amazing how quick Argentina can score.

I can't pull for England. All those players play for other Premier League teams.
Very good reason to pull for them. The longer they go the more tired they will be at the start of the season. I was getting excited, I thought McAllister was about to go out, dang it.

Messi cements himself as greatest player of all time. He really poured it on when it got 2-0 Egypt. We are definitely witnessing the greatest player of our lifetimes. There will never be another.

I’m pulling for Messi to score as many goals as possible so L4 keeps looking like a bigger and bigger idiot.
Old dudes can score in a short tournament. If he was still capable of turning in a season at the top level he would still be playing in Europe. He knows that he isn't, which is why he is in MLS. That's been my point all along and I have specifically stated it that way many times. Y'all keep commenting on something entirely different. Mo Salah played well today too. He dang sure slipped in the league last year though. He isn't what he was. Neither is Messi.

I think Messi is good enough to play in a higher league than MLS but I imagine he has some sweetheart deal like Beckham got. He might not could play a full season though. He only plays like every other game for Miami. Dude is always hurt or something.

so, I was thinking of this thread and said hey, in honor of the other thread when we were comparing talent, Gabriela Sabatini's name came up so I was like why not pull for Argentina? Well I turn the TV on while eating lunch and they were down 2-0 to Egypt and so I was like "well I jinxed them" because there is like 10 minutes left. Well not to spoil if for some that may not have watched it, you need to tune it in.

sorry, it's soccer.. I am not going to be watching it if the US is out.. I only watched bits of games with them in it and some highlights. I guess soccer is not my sport.
