In 2024, Poland spent the greatest share of its GDP for military expenditures (4.12%) among all NATO members. With over 216,100 active personnel in 2024, the Polish Armed Forces are the third-largest military in NATO, right after Turkey and the United States.

Poland is looking across the border like...

After 4 years of cannibalizing his military to not win in Ukraine, how is Putin going to pull off this invasion? What fuel and armaments stockpiles is he sitting on? Where is he getting the manpower? I understand he's sent a lot of conscripts and mercenaries / released convicts to Ukraine, but his military is spent. If he goes into Poland he'd be facing NATO air power, and the kind of precision weapons that Ukraine has spent years developing and deploying on a small scale.

I don't believe it for a minute. That would absolutely be the end of Putin and the current Russian federation.

Well, normally, I'd agree on this that Russia attacking Poland would be a really bad idea for Russia. BUT, remember, NATO is also a paper tiger w/o the US. And the US is being led by two of the most incompetant men that have ever held the position of POTUS and Sec of War.

After all, we just went over and attacked Iran... We dominated their military and took virtually no losses while doing it. Yet somehow we are arranging for Iran to get 300 BILLION to rebuld. They are keeping all their Nuclear material, their ballistic missle program, they can sell oil again, AND all their frozen assets are going to be released. BUT in all fairness to the Deal maker in Chief, Iran DID agree to sit down at a later date and DISCUSS inspectors.

So MAYBE this Russia attacking isn't so crazy. After all, tangling with the US sure did work out for Iran.

Putin doesn't have the balls. That would trigger a NATO response and Russia would get clobbered even without the U.S. honoring its commitment.
This.

But honestly, in a purely hypothetical way, I would like to see him try because I am curious what the response would look like from NATO and Trump.

It might trigger a NATO response. A very limited incursion might draw a small push back, and then condemnation and posturing. If Russia "mistakenly", allows some drones to cross into Polish air space or something like that, then NATO won't go full bore. A large scale incursion would force a response.
Would the US be part of the response?

I feel pretty certain Trump would not honor that, either. And what's being talked about is a ground invasion. There's no "might" about what that would incur.
