SO, you don't like it so no one else should? my wife's niece, her husband, and three kids were there yesterday and had a great time. Boys 9 and 7 and girl 3.
We waited during the almost 3 hour rain delay and that baby was packed when game eventually started at 9:30pm. Everyone stayed. It was awesome. They blocked off the west side parking area and had vendors in there. That is what they should do for football games.
I agree. Last night's game was on you gibe live. After five minutes I tirned to watch the Cards vs. Scrubs.
Went Saturday.
meh, the loud music during game play was too much for me.

I swear people act like they like it just to be cool.
Kinnick setup made it interesting. It would be boring as hell in a regular baseball stadium.

If only there were 4+ million people on the ticket waiting list who would think like you. Would make it easier to get tickets
Everyone hating the bananas better also have never enjoyed the globetrotters. Bunch of fun haters.

They definitely do other things than strictly behind the back. It's OK to not like it. It's ok to have an opinion. But it's entertainment, your preferred variety doesn't make it better than anyone else's.
At least the bananas actually play and aren't guaranteed to win every game? (I don't really care to watch either to be honest)
The White Sox are in first place. They are one of the greatest stories in MLB so far this season. They lost a record number of games last season, and have turned it around over night. We'll see if they can keep it up, but the AL is pretty weak, and the Sox have a great shot at the postseason, including winning the AL Central.
As for the Savannah thing: From what I've seen, it's a circus with a little baseball-type activity on the side, kind of like pro wrestling. How they draw these huge crowds baffles me, but then so does just about everything else these days. Whatever you call it, you won't have to worry about competing with me for tickets. I think I have to power wash the drive.

MLB is marking its 150th season right now, just for the record. There's nothing wrong with the Bananas, but some, like me, don't understand the appeal, if you don't mind that intentional observation.
I watched it on TV. "Competitive baseball" is a stretch . . . a long, long, long stretch, IMHO at least.
They put 70,000 in there--twice--Friday and Saturday night, and Friday after a 2.5-hour weather delay. Just remember what PT Barnum said. He'd be proud of the Bananas, that's for sure.
We went. It was a really good time. It's not serious baseball, but it's not "rigged" either. This is family entertainment, not a sporting event, so anyone wishing it were would be disappointed. I think the novelty will wear off soon, but good on them for capitalizing on the popularity. Strike while the iron is hot, as they say.
As mentioned prior like wwe the bananas are a form of sports entertainment. It’s not meant for the baseball purist like bob costas of the world who act like holier than thou about it. It’s Like the globetrotters but for a sport where you can’t do same act premeditated and more reactionary.
I agree and disagree to extent. I think it may peak in its popularity as the globetrotters were much bigger back in the day. however like them I think it will be around for sometime. As they travel around to different audiences it caters to kids and families so they’ll always have that next new generation of kids and parents to entertain. Like this summer ingenious idea to visit all these college towns with huge football stadiums who’ve never had a chance to see.
And the white Sox have benefited from banana alum, rookie center fielder tristan peters, who plays a great center field and is hitting around .290, with some very clutch base hits/ home runs.
Obviously, he is an exception, but never having seen a single moment of bananas, I do imagine they have some talent.
Peters is a rags to riches movie script waiting to happen if he continues his play and Sox win the world series....writes itself.
Totally agree, we went on Saturday and the kids loved it...which was the point. Everyone I knew had a good time with it. Now then, would I go again next year...meh, probably not. Would I go again in the future...when the grandkids are older...probably.
Edit to add...I LOVED the flyover and even teared up during the Wave. Knowing that there are sick kiddos nearby that 70,000 people are acknowledging AND watching my 3 year old grandson wave to said kids...grandpa got a little bit emotional.
Chuckling at the people that have so little interest that they clicked on the link and posted a declaration of how little interest they had in the product. I enjoyed it for what it is, which is what they tell you it is. As far as going again. It wouldn't be a 'must do' but when I think about how much you spend on going anywhere to do anything, bowling, movies, road trips, nice dinner it isn't crazy expensive. Definitely not a MLB, NFL, CFB, Concert experience or price tag. For the 'don't do anything amazing crowd', grab a glove and start catching throws from the shortstop between your legs. I know you don't have anything to damage between your legs but it would still bruise...............
You have to go in knowing that it’s like watching the Harlem Globetrotters, except in baseball format.
They have since 2016, but originally it was just a summer college wood bat league. In 2018 they added the the show team and in 2023 switched to just the show team and now they've added several teams to play a full league schedule. Some places don't get the Bananas themselves at all but still get the Banana-ball experience with two of the other teams. I saw Sioux Falls for instance gets a three game series in August but the Bananas aren't in it.
