Very good movie. The entire rescue sequence was completely unnecessary and just having Grace make a smart decision would have shaved 20 minutes off a very long run time and still the movie would have ended the exact same way. Sometimes Hollywood can't help itself by introducing unnecessary (and predictable) tension into a very solvable situation just for filler. I mean the movie is already 2:47.

All Grace had to do was tell Rocky to make the chain 10 km long and then fly into space to reel in the collector instead of doing a death defying space walk. And I actually said it out loud IMMEDIATELY when they said they couldn't get closer than 5km. I was like, "Oh fine, make it 10km then." And when he said "we'll have to fly close" I was like "Oh **** it's gonna get messy here."

It's actually the exact same movie as Passengers but without Jennifer Lawrence in a swimsuit.

I don't mean this to sound like I'm criticizing the movie. It's awesome.

Yeah probably a couple things that would’ve made it more realistic I suppose. I had to watch it twice though already and have to say I had some sort of dust or something in my eyes a couple times. lol. 9 out of ten. Not very many truly get that score from me, highly recommend giving it a watch.

I loved that movie. It felt big and ambitious like the sort of blockbusters that Hollywood made more frequently before Covid and Netflix killed the industry. I also loved Disclosure Day for the same reason. Circled right back to Close Encounters and ET.

I think superhero movies also have a hand in hurting the industry. This is coming from someone that loves superhero movies.

Gotta disagree with Disclosure Day, I think that was the worst flick Spielberg has ever made.

People are already acting weird about The Odyssey like making a big deal that 'dad' is used and not 'father'. It's a fantasy. It's a story that didn't happen, so it's Nolan's interpretation. I don't think Nolan hits it out of the park every time but that'll be the movie of the summer and will make crazy money.

The new Spider-Man looks dope. I can’t wait to see him finally be Spoder-Man and not Iron Spider. Peter didn’t need Tony to make anything for him, he’s very intelligent and resourceful on his own.
I have long thought that Tony did the avengers a disservice by not making suits for their unenhanced members. It would not have been difficult for him to do and it would’ve made a huge difference.

Not enough tension and then when it hits it’s contrived because Hollywood only knows how to make one kind of movie anymore. They can repackage them a million ways but the discovery > friends > not friends > friends pattern is some ******* boring garbage at this point.
