If Kentucky misses on Kusturica.

Some of you all are making UCLA’s campus a much bigger deal than it is. Now it may mean more to THIS guy and some others but certainly not to all. Otherwise UCLA would get every top recruit they wanted and there’d be a whole lot of blue bloods getting none.

I think this recruitment comes down more on the money side and the structure of the two year deal.
What was rumored, that UK offer was the highest but, back loaded and a guarantee he would be here the 2nd year. We can assume UCLA gave more money up front and the second year isn't locked in.

On Campus? Nearly 50,000 students, half young women in their late teens or early twenties, and a handsome 17 year old with a $12M contract and a likely top 5 NBA draft pick, meaning a likely nine figure future....yeah, even in that town lol. He could look like Nate Newton in his prime and still have to beat them away with a stick lol
I would have hated to see the hideousness of the girl he would have met in Lexington. Probably would have made you throw up in your mouth a little bit.

I think you are underselling the coeds on UK’s campus and Kentucky’s passion for basketball.
Apparently not. I seriously doubt this is a basketball only decision.
It's obviously more than just pretty girls and great weather. NY and LA normally means more endorsement dollars down the line as well. Lots of connections to make. It's the main reason the Lakers have always gotten great player after great player to come there and stay

I don’t know any “UK people” who talk about player contracts. I know of a bunch of talking heads who have anonymous sources or speculate and then others just repeat it as gospel. I feel the same way about them and their sources and conjecture as I feel about a twitter account from Europe. Y

You don’t pay attention then.

It’s called false flag recruiting. You would think people would learn that being on the net means nothing. People are really stupid sometimes posting pure lies to get click from the weak minder. Until UCLA announces it’s nothing.

Doesn’t UCLA have an assistant coach on their national team? I can see why somebody his age moving across the globe would want to play for somebody they’re already familiar with. Especially if the money is around the same

The minutes restriction year one thing is made up right? He played almost every minute today, took almost every shot and had an ungodly usage percentage. I assume he is all they have. 2/11 from 3 and 17/22 from the line
I believe it was misconstrued. I believe it was guaranteed minutes per game and the restrictions were on workouts. Either way it doesn’t matter but the kid has game.

Not exactly. The assistant coaches the national team, while Kusturica plays on the U17 team. However, Cronin also has a second Serbian on his coaching staff.

Big Blue Dylan on twitter heard it from an I am med Gonzaga source, it got posted and repeated on this board which makes it a fact to these people. No evidence, logic, or reason needed. It’s how they operate.

This is what he posted and where the claim of minutes restrictions came from

After speaking with a few Gonzaga Sources, it’s been reiterated to me multiple times that Gonzaga is not believed to be involved anymore, and have moved on to other potential targets.

“I think it’s Kentucky, or Michigan if this is a bidding war. They’ve seemed to have pivoted to secondary guards. I think while Gonzaga staff is high on him, they won’t pay more than $3m for a guy who they think should be playing 15mpg”

Also added: “What I’ve heard is his camp is actually asking for a minute restriction in year 1”

Michigan has a rotational need for him, and the pitch is quite clear, their offer has also raised in the last few days, I’ve been told, but is still significantly less than what Kentucky is offering Nikola.

I thought he already committed to UCLA? So he’s still potentially available? This would be a huge win for Pope. Dude just dropped 37 on Team USA.
