What I don't like about the PKs during regulation play is being able to select who will take the kick instead of having the player that was fouled taking the kick. Or did I miss that the player who was fouled exited the game?
Agreed--I dislike that as well--the person fouled should be taking it

It’s kind of the story of South American football. When they are desperate, they get really dirty. For a long time, Brazil held the mantle of purveyors of the Beautiful Game, but that has faded too. You’ll notice when they get down or aren’t as good, they start playing cheap as hell. Argentina in 1978 was a master class in skilled thuggery

The English call it shithousery

Witvoet with the penalty kick call radioed down from the booth when no foul was called on the field.

Bailed the Wolverines, I mean France, out.
The lack of scoring is a fundamental problem with the beautiful game. It makes any score precious.

Question. Has there ever been an nfl playoff game in which the games only score was set up by a questionable PI call?

I often ask my employees, “don’t come to me with problems, come to me with solutions”.

Here’s my solution. Eliminate the offsides rule. Has an NFL WR ever been penalized for running too fast?

@Erial_Lion will be along shortly to claim that you're paranoid and there isn't such a thing as nationally-biased officiating.
France homers will complain they were biased against them due to the cards. Paraguay homers will complain that they were biased against them due to the penalty. Rational people understand that refs are human and that they usually do a pretty good job.

When you think that the refs are biased against a team in every game/every sport against your team, it's time to reevaluate things.

I propose the NFL should change the rules to encourage more scoring by getting rid of the offensive offsides rule, and/or let everyone go in motion. A change like this could help make the sport popular.

It's not the same at all--as you know. If the motion thing worked it would be implement like the CFL.
A better example is hockey--which is why they got rid of the two line pass rule to help increase offense
Soccer's a great sport--that doesn't mean everyone has to like the offside rule.

I think the point is directed to all the football fans who decided to start watching soccer last week and think they know how the game should be played and officiated. The game is almost 200 years old and the core rules developed for good reasons.

I can’t imagine the disdain of American football fans of some Brit popped into the chat and suggested that you should be able to make as many forward passes on a single play as you want. Or the offensive line can move around as much as they want pre snap. Or….

I think there are rule changes that can help all sports--I wouldn't mind that criticism
The disallowed goal by Croatia’s Josko Gvardiol is my real issue with the rule. Doesn't make me correct. I wasn't upset Croatia lost but there's no way that should be considered offside IMO
For the record, as someone who played hockey throughout his life, I hate how instant replay is used with offsides in the NHL as well. Replay should be used to correct obvious offsides only. When you slow something down to view individual frames it didn't impact the outcome of he play.

Offsides should be eliminated altogether in hockey so there is more scoring. And you should be able to use any part of your body to put the puck in the net. Goalies shouldn’t be allowed to wear large leg pads.

Which would be great if that's what I was saying about soccer
This is a desperate post--thought you were better than that?

While they didn't eliminate offsides, the NHL did finally allow the 2 line pass to open up the game/scoring and eliminate the dreaded left wing lock.

Eliminating offside from soccer would set the game back 150 years. The fact that you don’t realize this tells me you have no idea what you are talking about.
