This poll makes no sense. Dems need to move to the center but we also really like socialism?

he says a lot..but here's my question about capitalism with a soul...because he seems to imply that our form has no soul...and I'd disagree with that position....we spend a lot of money on social welfare programs...welfare, Medicaid, food stamps etc. that doesn't demonstrate a "soulless" society. We have always been a society built on opportunity for all. Some seize it and some don't.Food for thought on how we got here.
And of course he brings up billionaires....which ones are stealing from us? Gates who created Microsoft, Bezos who started amazon, Musk with Tesla, starlink and now spacex, Buffet with his empire? I'd be happy to jump on the "bad" billionaires bandwagon, but from what I've seen these folks put up capital took risks and won. If I don't want to buy my insurance tthough geico, I don't: If I don't want next day delivery, don't but through Amazon: don't want to pay a higher price for an apple computer, don't buy......I don't consider that stealing from me.
Red hats beware of socialism? I think he's looking though a prism on this one. both those on the left and the right should be concerned. These folks are being welcomed by democrats, not by republicans. We'll see how independents feel come November

He says he doesn't want communism or socialism, he describes it as Capitalism with guardrails. And I get it after seeing this administration ruling with fear and mostly enacting policies that only help the billionaire class, while the middle and lower classes are getting nothing but subtraction. There will be a boomerang and it may even go too far but that's what happens when you ignore the majority of the population and focus on your own enrichment and others in your lofty class.
I don't disagree with what you posted. We have guardrails, maybe they need to be higher, but we have some in place. I can't see where this administration governs on fear...I'm not afraid, are you? I don't see that Trump policies help "only the billionaire class". What about no tax on tips, overtime or the reduction in taxes on social security, prescription costs reductions, trump accounts (dumb name) these all benefit the middle and lower classes. Most are not impacted by return to pre covid ACA subsidies. I don't have any facts to back this up, but i's submit for debate that the rich are getting richer not necessarily because of the BBB but because of economic activities....just one example, Musk became a trillionaire (and then back to simply a multi, multi billionaire) because of an IPO. With Warren buffet, he gets richer because all his companies are growing...etc etc...The economics of life reward those with money with more money - look on you tube about the benefits of achieving a $100,000 portfolio....
Could we do more with guardrails, sure we can....but i's submit that universal childcare isn't necessarily a guardrail, but a government social program...food stamps or welfare...these are guardrails..
Except for the centrist Diet MAGA corporate democrats who will either come out of the closet and become republicans or join Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Three Toes new third party

Even MAGA is full of Democratic Socialists. Everything they say they want from Trump we were talking about long before that: no new wars, higher wages for working class people, more protections for consumers, more affordable healthcare.

Maga is a fascist movement. It uses fear to gather votes to get the votes to enact the will of the oligarchs. Magas claim to be America first are okay with whatever war Trump wants or any other action. Maga pretends to care about child sex trafficking, and even virtue signalled by buying tickets for other people to go to Sound of Freedom, however, when the Trump administration breaks the law daily by not releasing the rest of the Epstein files his maga base doesn't seem to care.
Maga had an oligarch gathering for the inauguration where one of the oligarchs tossed up a Nazi salute. Magas don't care when Trump tears down a third of the WH. Magas don't care when the president runs a crypto rugpull. Magas don't care that Trump made 1.5 billion in crypto scams in 2025. Magas don't care when the reflecting pool gets ruined by a no bid government contract. Magas are gleeful to watch the UFC on WH grounds.
Progressives want people to have healthcare, paid maternity leave, and don't want to pay for Israel to genocide Gaza or bomb random towns in Lebanon.

It is a whole movement built around fears of different groups. Such a the immigrants are eating pets, taking your jobs, raping your women, and are going to ethnically replace whites. Fears of nuclear Iran are spread to whip neocons. Trans bathroom fears. Trans rapes. Dystopian danjerus librol cities. The list goes on and on, Magas are driven by fears.
Make sense because while they like socialism they realize they share the country with other people(most) that wont accept it. So all the sides meet in the middle. Nobody is totally happy but its enough to avoid a war and keep the country together. The far left and right both suck azz and will be rejected by most people...

One needs to understand politics isnt a monolith. There are many issues that multiple sides agree with.
