Does any rendition come close to this one 35 years ago?

God Bless America.

I was blessed to be in the stands for this rendition. I am biased a bit from that experience, but if this doesn’t give you chills you might be a bit too jaded. Jim Cornelison is a Chicago/national treasure.

Nothing comes close IMO.

Almost forgot about him. He used to do all the Blackhawk games and I’m sure others too. But he does an awesome rendition.

I’ve seen him do it a few times live at various events. He is incredible, but nothing matched that environment…Stanley Cup finals, amped up crowd, etc.

A true thrill and a lifelong memory.

It's lip synched. She didn't sing it live.
Whitney Houston lip-synced her iconic performance of the national anthem at the 1991 Super Bowl, though the audio was a studio recording of her own voice that she nailed in just one take. Her musical director and producer, Ricky Miner, confirmed that the NFL required the pre-recorded track as a precaution to eliminate the risks of unpredictable audio and crowd noise during the broadcast. While Houston sang along live on the field, the television audience heard the flawless, pre-recorded vocal.

It's great, but f*ck the Blackhawks. Go Blues! Sucks that Parkinsons led to his retirement.
