ha, basically!

Jemele Hill said of Clark in 2024: "We would all be very naive if we didn't say race and her sexuality played a role in her popularity,"

So, we can say Clark's race and sexuality play a significant role in making her popular but if you suggest her race and sexuality play a factor in how she's treated in the league by other players, well then you're a nut job.

We all know that only white athletes have been popular. Jordan, Lebron, Mahomes, Tiger, Steph, Serena, Kobe, Shohei (unless anyone non-black is considered white...which is usually the case).

Agreed.

I have to laugh.

"You only like her because she's white (or straight) in a black dominated sport"

Actually I think she's hated because shes white (or straight) in a black dominated sport.

"How dare you bring race and sexual preferences into this!"

Dumb business decisions have become the norm for some in the era of wokeness with many glaring examples.
The WNBA is intentionally thumbing their noses at a golden opportunity to expand their audience viewership and attendance and make a huge positive impact on the league's bottom line. The question remains to be answered if this is the true goal of the owners/investors. This could be accomplished by simply enforcing existing rules by deterring rule breaking with meaningful punishment but ideology is getting in the way of common sense justice. It's easy to see that this business behavior is a mirror image of societal behavior regarding the way the current justice system is operating.

The black girls of the W have made it a racial issue. Not seeing that is ignorant. Remember the face Plum made when Asia said Caitlin was from white privilege. How stupid can you be to a) say that to another white girl and b) think no one is going to know you also came from a privileged family. I don't watch any of it. I'm tired of hearing people talk about it. It is an embarrassment to all things American. Also leaving her off the poster is an extreme slap in the face. Just come out and say we don't like you but we are going to use you to make money and create controversy because in America racism and controversy equals money.
You have no idea what white privilege is based on this response....like at all. I'm legitimately not trying to be funny, but I don't know how you argue against it as a concept. Caitlin's issue with the rest of the players is that she's not particularly likable. She pushes off then flops, constantly complains, takes bad shots & shoots terrible from the field, turns it over as much as any player I've ever seen, & has still gotten undue praise for it. She's not necessarily the best player on her own team but gets coverage like the best in the world. Throw that in a pot and as a competitor I'd be ticked off too
