How are you people in the Northeastern quarter of the country dealing with the heat and humidity more common to the Southeastern quarter?

Dealing just fine thanks but yes, it’s damn hot out there. Celebrated the heat this evening with the first Bread and Butter sweet corn of the season and it was delicious. Corn on the cob, Smith’s Hotdogs burst open on the grill, fresh cut coleslaw.
Oh, and it has been pretty easy riding out the heat watching the World Cup.

And Wimbledon--no reason to leave the house/AC until Saturday unless you really want to.

Heh. Here in Hotlanta, max temp was "only" about 95 degrees today. I saw on the news this evening that the temperature in Lititz, PA, was 103 degrees. Stuart Varney noted that it was already 93 degrees in New York at 11 AM. I'll take the "hot" weather in the summer for warmth with the early Springs and late Autumns. And very mild winters.
Phillies Vs Pirates on at 12:30 today as well. Lots of solid sports viewing.

Had our home HVAC systems serviced last week, including a refrigerant line re-insulated. They’re performing well and I’m minimizing any need to go outside for a few days. I’m just very grateful to be in a position in life to remain this comfortable during this ridiculous heat wave.
Not that bad. I plan on working outside for a few hours tomorrow. If I never post again you'll know it didn't go well ..............

Older people, like myself really don't deal well with either extreme. Turned 78 this past May and the weather has been more oppressive this year. I remember the unbelievable Heat and humidity in Vietnam in 1968 and dealt with it, but I was only 20 years old.
Not good! Apparently watching steam trains go by is still a big attraction. I was at New Ringold, near Tamaqua, for the passing of the Big Boy and the place was packed. Tamaqua was much fuller as there was a stop there. It was very hot and lots of older people, like me, were out to watch. Of course, the train was 20 minutes late and people started having heat related problems.

Here in new Orleans. Always hot and humid in the summer. 30 years ago i would be playing softball, golfing or running in 90+ degrees.
Now, try to stay in side until 4:30 or so before going outside. Will cut the back yard this evening, then jump in the pool. Only 3 1/2 months until cooler weather.

I keep hearing about this train and can't comprehend the interest in it--although I'm sure countless people don't understand why I've been watching Wimbledon and the World Cup all week

Saw Big Boy this morning up in Gladwyne. Luckily it had not heated up too much yet. Then left there and played a little tennis - the heat was pretty cranked up at that point.

Lived there until my freshman year in High School (product of divorced parents) and when I had choice moved to PA due to the hot\humid weather and never ending insect problems (roaches and nasty zzz biting flies) in Louisiana. Miss the people and "laissez les bons temps rouler" lifestyle but love the weather\seasons up NorthHere in new Orleans.
