Find it interesting that some coaches/programs are pretty open about this stuff; others are cloak and dagger/lock-and-key, and others are sort of in the middle but subject to rampant speculation by media types, etc.It gets crazier and crazier.

They aren't. That's the problem. Robbing Peter to pay Paul.Going from $5M to $14M? Nice on them. Also amazing the funds out there for this stuff. Truly amazing. Constantly.
Yep. People keep giving the money and is their choice so…It keeps getting crazier but schools keep paying so I guess the market is deciding this is normal until this whole mess gets fixed. How high can it go?
That's true but it was reported 3 months ago that Xavier had tripled their budget from last year. Also, Cincinnati Coach Calhoun was asked his budget under oath in the same trial and he declined to answer. He only answered because he was under oath.
Exactly. There is definitely differences amongst programs and coaches as to the level of transparency. It doesn’t stop media types or fans from speculating one way or the other, regardless. We have threads in why $$ is mentioned repeatedly for certain teams, as much as the basketball stuff. That's true but it was reported 3 months ago that Xavier had tripled their budget from last year. Xavier isn't hiding. Their AD was open last June when he said they were 15% below the Big East average and that it wouldn't happen again. They later announced a $500 Million fundraising Campaign that included $40 Million specifically for athletics. They obtained pledges for most of that money already and the University is investing in their flagship program. As a result they have the #1 Transfer class in the country per On3.
