Basketball Girls Basketball Transfers

The Journal Star has a story out today highlighting some of the significant girls basketball player transfers for the 2026-27 season. They include:

- KayTee Irons-Buettner (Lincoln Southwest to Bellevue West)

- Emerson Johnson (Elkhorn South to Millard North)

- Sofia Madlock (Lincoln Northwest to Lincoln North Star)

- Kinley Ford and Kamryn Scott (Alma to Kearney)

Another transfer that's not listed in the article, but I am aware of:

- Kyndal Werner & Kayton Werner (Elkhorn Valley to Pierce)

The Werner girls going from Elkhorn Valley to Pierce doesn't really fit the mold of "transfer" that I think the article is pointing out.

They moved from Tilden to Pierce because their mom got a teaching job in Pierce. To me that's just a "move." They'll be at a new school, but they aren't transferring for some of the reasons people get fired up about with most of these kids.

Correct. But still a move that will affect both programs.
