Yes , the way it was explained to me was that a yellow can be intentional OR egregious. But a red card has to be both.
That was not intentional at all.
Wow didn`t know he has to sit out the next game with no sub. Worse than targeting - at least someone can come in for you. Seems unfair to penalize the whole team, plus it seemed like a bogus call from what all are saying. It looked worse in slow motion than in real time.
We couldn't sub this game, so we finished with 10. He is sitting out the next game but we can play 11 for that.
Doesn't FIFA have the ability to review the call after the match and potentially overturn the red card in regard to his ineligibility for the next game?

Just for the next game. Which could be the whole tournament for us. Belgium is good, and probably favored over us.
Yeah, they are ranked 10th. Was surprised to see we are ranked 14th, though. Belgium hasn't played lights out so far...tied with Egypt and Iran and then smoked a bad New Zealand.
I believe Kevin De Bruyne does not have same impact on the field as he did in previous years and I believe the United States will prevail. I think the United States has the good combination of athleticism and skill to advance to the quarterfinal or semifinal. I watched the opponents of the United States grab United States players jersey because they cannot keep up with them.
The moment you lift those spikes up and make contact with someone you assume there will be a problem. Messi should have been carded for this.
Germany and Netherlands ranked eight and nine. Belgium was down two to null with about five to ten minutes left to play and they scored two quick goals to force extra time. They had a little luck yesterday winning.
