They’re basically free on gameday
I have said this over and over. I am not a big shot (I only have 1 vacation home @4.6.3 , but I have never bought tickets for a Husker home game.

I already have 4 tickets with parking passes for 3 different home games next year all lined up, totally free.

And if you can't get them free from friends, like you said, you can get them for free come game day.

Dannen is a real life Scrooge McDuck, what the **** is this? I went to buy my dad and I tickets to a single game after tickets went on sale today and had to settle for Bowling Green.

Only the non con buy games are reasonable priced now. $54 for the cheapest seats at those games.
But when we sell our season tickets for those prices they get pissy.

I'm not a fan of Dannen, but this is pretty much the case everywhere now. Going to a college FB game in which one team has a pulse is fairly expensive. If both teams are even halfway decent, the price is ridiculous.
Paid 5$/ticket multiple times to watch Puckett and Gladden from right behind the glass in left field during a World Series championship year. $150 for this clown show?

You don't have enough vacation homes until you have at least one that you can't remember where the hell it is!

When the Royals played the Phillies in the 1980 series you could decent tickets for $30

This is what happens when you have companies willing to buy up the remaining tickets to extend the fake sellout streak. Drives up costs for the actual fans.

This. The sellout streak is so important to a few in the ath. dept that any unsold dynamically priced tickets will be sold to a corporate buyer at a steep discount and flipped into the Red carpet experience, to the benefit of underserved communities. Companies will then be able to write this off. A couple years back, I was pitching in on tickets that belonged to a family. It was a nice deal, but it makes you think about how many times over the last 10 years that I could've got a single five minutes before kickoff for $25. It is nice to see the athletic department giving opportunities to kids and families that wouldn't otherwise get to a game. But part of that leaves you feeling sour if you know that the same tickets that you are paying a set fee+donation for are being discounted heavily in order to keep the streak alive.

How dare you! Dannon does not approve of fans selling their tickets for a mark up. He rambled on and on about some VB ticket holder making a profit last year. It obviously kept him up at night.
I sell some of my CWS tix and I sell them at what the market demands. If I sell for a lower price, they are scooped up quickly and put back on sale for a higher price minutes later. If someone is to make a profit, better me than some Mike Damone wannabe.

Yeah, Colorado basketball coach Tad Boyle likes to throw a hissy fit whenever CU season ticket holders sell their seats to Kansas or Arizona fans. What Teflon Tad doesn't seem to realize is that everyone doesn't make $3 million per year, and the tickets are theirs to do with what they damn well please. The same people who make a few bucks selling their seats to those games also pay full price to watch CU play Alabama State, Florida A&M and a host of other punching bags Tad uses to pad his W-L record.

Considering the product being put on the field these prices are totally ridiculous. In the past used to fly up there for one game per year. Not anymore. Tired of the losing. Can watch that on TV and go take a nap after the second quarter as the game is normally lost by that time. I do wish NU well however and hopefully this all changes. Have to get the athletes for it to change. As Barry Switzer once stated, "its not about the X's and O's but rather the Jimmies and Joes.

It's Mike Dannon, not Damone. But any who, I liken your selling of CWS tickets to having a garage sale. I HATE the pickers who come to your sale, scan your stuff for great deals so that they can resell them online, and then make a snarky comment when your prices are at what they want to resell them for!

I can’t wait until football reseat. We can get rid of all the non donating poors sitting in seats they have no business being in. Crowd and game experience will improve drastically when it’s finally done

I can imagine how much fun you are in the stands. And I cringe at some of the things you must yell out.

Yes, because nothing gets the house rockin' like large donors moving closer to the field or the court.
It helps when they aren’t 90 years old, and can actually still see what’s going on. Large donors are better than the people between the 20s in that stadium. It’s like a church service in those sections. I hope the new student section is big and right on the field. Just like they are in most stadiums. The non donors can piss off to the upper reaches of the end zones.

Season tickets are a privilege not a right. Those VB ticket holders were never using their tickets they sold the season tickets every year for multiple years. There are plenty of people that want season tickets for VB so Dannen just made it easier. Those season ticket holders we warned this might happen if they continued. I guess they thought the university was bluffing.

These prices are basically face value when you take in consideration of the donation that would go with that seat .
Exactly. Some of us want to recoup that donation fee. Like you said, I’m not selling you my Ohio State or Oregon or Michigan tickets for $70/per. I don’t sell all of my season tickets and I don’t throw some insane prices on them. I still make it to Nebraska for at least 1 game a year, usually 2. Just depends on my running schedule.

Yep , I have no issues with someone like you that still has tickets but obviously out of state and can’t make it to all games to get some of your donations back. The people that lost their VB tickets were selling them for insane profit beyond their total including donations.

You’re misinformed only people that don’t pay for priority seating in the North end zone rows 90-99 and Sec14 in the South end zone.

West Stadium has been a mausoleum for decades. But if you are expecting a reseat to breathe life into it, I think you are going to be sorely disappointed.

There are fans that have had season tickets for decades that are grandfathered in and don’t pay the current donation level that goes with the seats that they are sitting in . Believe that’s what OP talking about and they is the biggest reason for the reseat.

It worked for baseball (once they woke up) during Regionals. I’m not sure I’ve heard it as loud as it was during the Ole Piss game.

Even if you are grandfathered in now you still pay on a certain amount according to where your seats are located from what I have been told.

Once you buy the tickets, they are yours. If you can resell them for a huge profit, that is fine with me.

When I was in college I sold my ticket to the OU game for 75 dollars to a dude in my frat...I was happy to take that cash.

So if those season tickets holders didn't re-sell their tickets for profit then this wouldn't have happened?
