I am starting to like this game more and more because of the uncertainty of Michigan’s team all over the board. Talent wise they should beat us on that alone but I have this feeling Iowa will be ready and won’t be overwhelmed over the big crowd. Games and teams go through cycles for instance Wisconsin had our number for numerous years and we flipped the script… Michigan has as well and the same with ISU… I see the tide turning this year and I believe they will be heading into their home gane with OSU at 4-0… been wrong before but I think this is the year aa the pieces are falling into place …

Go Hawks!

We have a history of stumbling early in the season at ISU.
Now our success in November is probably due to our dominance of our rivals.
Wish we played mich, OSU and Wash in the last 6 weeks as the weather fits our style of play in nov.

I just think we are set up to lose these three games.
Michigan has a ton of talent.
They can run the ball with underwood a running threat.
Utah played power ball and mich can play that game.
Not feeling good about that stretch
We need to get one win.
Wish it was at wash,OSU ,at mich, instead
Playing the most beatable of these games on the road at the end of this gauntlet might leave us depleted.

I would definitely prefer playing talented teams outdoors in november but the michigan osu types seem to usually happen in the first half of the season.

You know Iowa has won at Mich in 2010, 2002, 1990, 1981 and I might have missed one there. And that time period covers 11 games at Mich statium so Iowa wins there about 38-40% of the time there. In 2019 Mich won by 7, and '97. '93, and '83 were less than a TD loss. That is 4 wins and 4 close losses out of 11 games. So I give us a 50% chance historically but maybe a negative is the matchup of QBs and inexpericence of our defensive line. So I say a 40-50% chance of winning.

We play at Mich much better than OSU at OSU probably because Mich runs the ball more and is a bit more conservative over the years.

Mich has a very good, experienced head coach

Iowa will have a good chance to win @ Michigan. Despite the size of the Big House and the recent remodel, the Michigan crowds never seem to impact the game as much as the crowds do in other venues.

One of the most satisfying and unexpected Iowa wins @ Ann Arbor came in 1981 when Hayden Fry's guys beat Bo Schembechler's boys 9-7 on three Tommy Nichol field goals. It was one of the key wins that sent Iowa to the Big Ten title and its first Rose Bowl since 1959.

I think Lester's offense is gonna surprise people with a balanced attack featuring the best aerial assault in a long time. Combined with Phil's defense and the usual special teams superiority--despite a new coach and lots of new faces--I'll take the Hawkeyes.

There coach always reminds me of the KF of the west. He brought a couple good defensive players and one DE Daley an all conference caliber talent. I’m not sold yet on Underwood for Michigan and as others said better to get early. Typical Iowa game where I think if either team gets to 20 that could be enough to win it.

I am not either Underwear tossed a lot of INT’s last year and Iowa’s DB’s could have a field day with him… wait and see… that’s why they play the game

Jersey I think it is a realistic possibility. Probably our best shot in that brutal opening three-game stretch. And as hawk82 pointed out above, Iowa has shown they are not intimidated in The Big House.

Michigan under Whittingham will be vastly improved. They’ve moved on from bozo the clown and now have a very solid coach. Thats not the game on the road I’d be expecting a win. They may win the bigten
