My fan attention has dropped significantly with the college game becoming professional. I do find myself enjoying attendance at some of the local small colleges. My son and I have enjoyed high school basketball and seeing teams like Franklin and Marshall and Kutztown play football. I am starting to feel about major college football the same way I feel about Reading Phillies or Harrisburg Senators games. Why go to those when I can watch major league teams? This attitude of mine has been coming on for twenty years or so. However, with players switching teams all the time my interest has cratered.

This year Penn State might as well be called the Cyclones. How does anyone care about a bunch of players from another school changing uniforms and coming to State College? I don't, but I guess that is just me?

Because they choose to come here and be Penn Staters, just like anybody else who chooses to come here. Players like Becht and Sowell are no less Penn State than players like Olesh or Grunk and I’m sure you were fans of them.
