You don’t see a direct correlation between the Iran War and gas prices in 2026?
You weren’t here, but the board Dems said “the president doesn’t have any control over gas prices” when Russia invaded Ukraine. That comment was aimed at the retards that said that, they know who they are.

Of course there is a direct correlation. But if he gets credit for them going up, then no crying when he gets (takes) credit for bringing them down.

Also, gas never got as high as during the Biden admin, so Dems don’t have a whole lot of room to peacock on this issue.

Democratic green energy policies are highly inflationary and Trump made good progress on slashing these regulations and it’s why you saw oil down, to what, $58- $60 a barrel to start this term.

It’s also a large part of why Republicans will outperform current expectations at mid terms.

If oil stays low, inflation will come crashing down (PCE print tomorrow morning will be interesting / irrelevant). If inflation comes down, Intrest rate expectations will come down. If Intrest rate expectations come down, equity prices will explode.

If equity prices explode voters will have for $$$ in their pocket. If they have more $$& in their pocket they will vote MAGA.

This economy is primed at the pump imo, and a lot of it hangs on the price of oil.

Don’t be a fаggot

And glad you outed yourself as the retard.

I put this fаggot on ignore months ago and all he does is follow me around and comment on my posts?

That is the one bad thing about the Hawkeye invasion, it’s harder to use the ignore feature. But I can go back to making Yoshi cry if I need too.

This belongs in the Dumbest President thread since Trump obviously doesn't know how futures markets work.
The guy who makes every announcement of significance after the futures markets close doesn’t understand how they work?

Hmm, did Joe invade Ukraine? No.

Did Donald, along with his butt buddy Bibi, bomb Iran? Clear differences.

The end result is the same, yes. Correlation doesn’t always equal causation.
I don’t think the voter cares about correlation and causation. They care about their wallet. That’s been my point the whole time.

If oil spikes back to $90+ before midterms, you will hear me say that Republicans will be soundly defeated.

I think it will be a little more down to earth than oil futures. Yes they correlate to price at the pump and yes the price at the pump is a visible reminder of the cost of things.

But if someone was paycheck to paycheck under Biden and is still paycheck to paycheck after two of years of Trump (who literally promised to bring prices down quickly) they aren’t going to automatically vote for an incumbent. They are going to vote against the incumbent because they did not get the economic relief they were promised.

Before the Iran war started Brent crude was around $66. And people were upset about costs then. Trump was polling very negative on the economy at that point - go back and look it up. So getting Brent to $70 is not actually improving things, it’s just not making them substantially worse.

Maybe the psychology of it will work, I am constantly amazed by how stupid some of us are. But if you are one of the many millions living paycheck to paycheck I don’t see how you can say ”Congress has delivered for me”.

Oh, and the GOP went ahead and pissed off the Hispanic vote with their over the top ICE tactics. That was a huge own goal as those voters are socially conservative and should align more naturally with the GOP in the first place. Trump winning many hispanic votes helped him a lot in 2024. Trump is now WAY underwater with Hispanics.

Oh, I agree. I don’t think prices suddenly start falling anytime soon though. Reserves are at 43 year lows and it’s going to take time to get that inventory back up. I’m glad to see you see the James Carville approach to elections though.

1) hispanics hate socialism
2) legal immigrants often despise illegals.
3) the illegals aren’t supposed to vote.

I don’t think Trump will be hurt with Hispanics. The ones who didn’t like his policies, probably didn’t consider voting for him in the first place.

If people don’t like Trump’s economic policies, Democrats are gonna have to put forth policies that will help the people. What have they put forward? The only thing I see is anti-Trump stuff, I don’t see what they are pushing to help the American people. Maybe that’ll change as we approach midterms.

Intrest rates down across the curve this morning.

10 year down to 4.38% after cracking 4.5% last couple weeks.

I think Bank Of America is wrong.

Not sure if you understand this or are proud of it, but 4.1% PCE is the highest since May 2023. Its going the wrong direction.
It came in lower than expected and the market received it well. My guess is because expectations of oil prices continuing lower, and therefore future inflation will be lower.

They actually came exactly where expected, not lower. Look at your post.
One of us is missing something. I see it coming in as .1 lower than expected. The top line. if I’m wrong point it out and I’ll acknowledge as much.

Expected .5 came in .4

When gas goes lower before mid terms Dems will pivot to saying “the president doesn’t have any control over gas prices.”

Remember last winter when Trump was running around the country bragging that gasoline was $1.98/gallon????

He sure wanted to take credit for that then!

Fact is...prices spiked 100% because of his Iran War.
Toss in his foolish tariffs and voters are pissed off.
His Congressional Republican enablers will be paying that bill this November.
