I really thought he would be at Michigan for longer than this and create a dynasty of some sort
Timing is not horrible for Michigan...they have a complete roster and rated as high as #3 in pre -season ratings.
Now, can they keep it together?
Maybe they just promote asst coach Boynton
( former head coach at ok.st.). and manage to keep roster intact.
I do know that we could benefit with some recruits we are both pursuing.
May is a very good coach and a friend of Ben.
Amazing run for May from obscurity to NBA.
Glad we will not have to compete vs May anymore.
Hope NBA stays away from Ben.
Michigan job is to big for Boynton. May is an absolute stud. Seems like a perfect fit for the NBA. While a huge fan of Ben I don't think his style of play would be any kind of fit for the NBA.Timing is not horrible for Michigan...they have a complete roster and rated as high as #3 in pre -season ratings.

Last interim coach they hired for football worked so well for them. 🫢Actually reports are they are hiring Boynton as interim. Keeps getting better for Iowa…
It could've been worse, they could've hired Brian FerentzLast interim coach they hired for football worked so well for them. 🫢
Yeah I definitely this is more about ncaa fiasco of college sports over Michigan. Plus the Mavs having Cooper Flagg doesn’t hurt also.I’d imagine NIL is a huge headache.
Someone told me Billy Donovan was number one on their list.Michigan stay away from McCollum
You have nothing to worry aboutMichigan stay away from McCollum
what recruits? what year?Iowa is battling them for several high end recruits. This is huge for us, IMO.
They just mention Daughtry in the post above. Iowa's top point guard prospect.what recruits? what year?
Why? We play ISU once per year, and only occasionally compete with them for in state recruits anymore. We don't want him going to a school with a lot more money like Michigan that we play anywhere between 1-3 times per year.I am praying for Otz to Michigan!!
We'll need to keep an eye on Daughtry

Not concerned about Otz, regardlessWhy? We play ISU once per year, and only occasionally compete with them for in state recruits anymore. We don't want him going to a school with a lot more money like Michigan that we play anywhere between 1-3 times per year.
Because of portal tampering? Mecheatagain is at it again.I really thought he would be at Michigan for longer than this and create a dynasty of some sort
If Ben M is getting paid well at Iowa he will stay. He likes college ball and do you want to coach 80+ games a year and travel all over all the time? If Ben does really well at Iowa over 5 years he may look at bigger time college programsTiming is not horrible for Michigan...they have a complete roster and rated as high as #3 in pre -season ratings.

Yeah, a tough time of year to find a big time coach to hire in college. Pay Boynton for a year as interim to see how he does and how the players like him but in March and April 2027 a lot of coaches will be there to be hiredActually reports are they are hiring Boynton as interim. Keeps getting better for Iowa…
How about Fran?Someone told me Billy Donovan was number one on their list.
Good to have May in the NBA, but I don't see Ben having any interest in the NBA. He seems like a guy who loves the teaching aspect, the chess matches during games, even the challenges of recruiting. I just don't see any way Ben ever coaches in the NBA.Timing is not horrible for Michigan...they have a complete roster and rated as high as #3 in pre -season ratings.

The sharks are already circling. I'd be surprised if Michigan didn't lose at least a couple players (one I think is pretty much already gone). And there are a few kids that if they want to leave there are plenty of schools that will find the money for them because they can be difference makers.A stab in the back to the players. Many wont be able to transfer this late in the year or take a nil cut as most schools would have their money spent already.
So in your opinion will they have Boynton interim for a year and then decide if they want to hire someone else; or pull the trigger now on Donovan if he wants the job?The sharks are already circling. You may well be right, but part of me thinks that Ben loves a challenge, and at some point in his career, if given the opportunity, he may want to give it a goGood to have May in the NBA, but I don't see Ben having any interest in the NBA.
