Probably drop to a 2* soon.

Edit: That's a really cool video, his Mom is an Alum and he's grown up a State fan.

Never heard of Riverdale, TN? Not sure where that was. I grew up in Columbia, TN which was a nice small town south of Nashville.

He’s a 3* QB everywhere except that dream sequence in the tweet.
God you’re a cuck. Try and keep up. Kid was the 26th ranked 4 star in the class of 28 he reclassified to 27 and for some reason they moved him to a 3stsr which was dumb. Nothing the kid has done should have downgraded him, he’s still got the four star talent he had.
you are just a dumb miserable 17er

I don’t see anything referencing 4 star now. I’m assuming something in the OP was edited, I didn’t pull that out of thin air.

nevermind, I got it from the article linked in the scroll at the top.

So a group of competitors all got together & conspired to drop this kids rating when he committed to Mississippi State. Or maybe, just maybe, when he was being compared to the group of 16-year old QBs they were projecting him as a 4* next year. But when he announced he’s graduation early, they’re now comparing him to the group of 17-year old QBs who are all a year older, bigger, stronger & more experienced, he now rates as a 3*.

and no, I’m not going to follow HS recruiting much other than to fact check guys like you or just a general check to see our class ranking. Because no matter how good this kid is or isn’t, odds of him ever starting a game for us are low. He could flip to a better offer, we could drop him for a better qb, we both agree Lebby might not even be our coach by signing day. Then he’d presumably sit behind Taylor for 2 years, if he didn’t transfer out or we bring in a transfer qb over him.

^^^^^This is it in a nutshell. There’s the same number of 4* kids in every class. It’s not like the 2028 class has 45 of them and the 2027 class has 38. The top X number of players are 5*. Then the next X number are 4* and so on. Its the same numbers every year.

All the downgrade says is that he was already on the fringe of being a 3* in the 2028 class, then when compared against others there….and didn’t make the cut against the class above him which was probably deeper.

Some of us are just tired of the constant negativity that doesnt do this program or this board any good . No one is happy with loosing but taking a step back and seeing things are progressing would be good advice for this fan base. A kid who’s family attended msu a kid who is a fan of msu, a kid who was the 26th ranked QB in the 28 class decided he wanted to go ahead both academically and athletically to join the class of 27 and commit to our school is good thing. Yet Pat and others want to degrade the kid on a message board and take more shots at the program. Its stupid. Maybe we can agree on that.

Who da fook cares about a year-younger freshman who will be on next years roster

We’ll have 6 QBs come and go before he ever plays for us

Some of us are more concerned with the losing than the “negativity.” And I haven’t degraded anyone. I simply stated the facts.

We get a commitment from a good QB candidate and I get to read SPS posters calling each other names, SPSers denigrating the kid, and SPSers denigrating our coach. For the love of Mississippi State just stop it!

Yes, every recruiting service has settings on every recruit that if they commit to us it automatically downgrades them with no traceable evidence to say they were a higher star.

No one has denigrated the kid or the coach in the thread that I can see, just rational explanations of star rating when a recruit changes classes. The only negativity or name calling i see is from Bull77. Which is ridiculous and out of place as usual.

So now we pre-sh!+ our commitments.

Look, for the most part we all know you don't choose State it chooses you. I actually like that fact as I despise Walmart fans in any sport. This kid chose State because it already chose him....he grew up in it. We should celebrate that regardless if he takes a snap or not.

I celebrate him coming to State and I hope he’s a 5 star masquerading as a 3 or 4 star and he starts 3 years for us.

Now can I shat on Lebby?

Some of us like to.speak in factual terms. Maybe you are living in a fantasy world, but everything i have seen says 3 star. Everybody here hopes he is the greatest QB ever at State. The video is awesome and family ties are great. Current rankings say he is a 3 star. Period

This is what I’m hoping is happening:

Kid agreed to finish a year early in hopes of spending his freshman year in college learning how to play college-level ball and red-shirting to hopefully compete and show out when his number is called INSTEAD of spending that year as a senior in high school learning nothing new and potentially getting injured and never having the opportunity to play any college ball (especially at the school he’s been a lifelong fan of).

This is all just a theory I have proposed in running a list of scenarios.

Right now, I'd put $100 down on a -110 wager that he'll never take a snap for us
